My family owns DVC so I figured if I came on here it might help me with a dilemma...Me and nine of my friends are planning a trip for senior year, in 2005. I havent seen the book in awhile, I keep forgetting to ask the rent's to look at it, but what villas would accomadate the ten of us...and keep it mind were teens so we have a budget. Me and my friend Lisa are trying to get our parents help for the hotels lol...any input would be good

Well if you have access to DVC points then you would need either a grand villa, which sleeps up to 12, or 3 studios, which sleep up to 4 in each room. There are no villas that sleep exactly 10. A 2-bedroom villa would be way to small for 10. If you are going to have to pay cash then you might want to rent 3 rooms at an All Stars Resort. DVC villas are pretty expensive if you are having to pay cash.

Hi Ali-
What time of year are you looking to go and for how long? The points change depending on holidays, seasons, etc. Email me and I'll try to figure out the best way for you guys to go! Macnjac87@aol.com

You cheapest option would be to look at renting a holiday home off site. As long as you have someone that can drive you, you can rent a whole house for about $700 a week.

I used to own one of these myself so here's a link to the old website, it will give you some idea of what you can get for your money. My house had one double bed, four singles and two double pull out sofa beds. If your case, I'd opt for a house that everyone gets their own bedroom as it'll only cost maybe an extra $100 for the week.

The point charts aren't out for 2005 yet, and neither are the prices for that year if you book the rooms directly with Disney.

I also concur with getting 3 studios if your family is willing to let you use their points. If not, the best deal will be the All Stars. Who knows, maybe they'll have opened Pop Century by then.:D

Alex, there are many options and you're smart to start planning so far ahead. There are many options and limitations along the way. Your cheapest option to stay on site is going to be OKW in 3 studios or Boardwalk Standard view for 3 studios. Your best onsite option might be OKW or standard view BWV for a 2 BR plus a studio. That way you'll have a full kitchen and can save some money on meals. For that large of a group, the transportation charges will be pretty hefty so you may want to consider renting a car or a van. Even then it'll be difficult getting 10 in one vehicle but you can rent one and shuttle if you need to. Not the most efficient way to do it but still workable. That way you'll have access to groceries and the like. The other alternative would be for the limo services where they will do a grocery stop.

The value of points for summer will be around $2000 for 5 nights excluding weekends and around double that if you add in weekends (assuming a 2 BR plus a studio) as this will be around 200-400 points. You may want to consider off site timeshares where you can likely get a 3 BR of equivilent unit for maybe $1200 or so for the week, cheaper possibly. Most will have a shuttle to WDW, some will charge you and others will not. One thing to keep in mind is that many places and car rentals require a certain age for usage. That age can range from 18-25 in some cases so you'll need to check on that. I haven't heard of DVC restricting past age 18 but others do.

If it were I in the situation I think you're in, I'd talk with my parents but I suspect they're not going to be thrilled about using 200-400 points for a teen trip to WDW. You may be better asking for their help in other ways such as cash and renting something much cheaper. You're smart to get info before hand. Good luck.

Thanks guys for the input. It's helping alot lol. Im trying to get my parents to just lend us a little bit. If they do that and my friend Lisa's parents let us use some points and than the rest of the group helps with the rest of the money we may be able to do onsight. Were just hoping it all goes according to plan lol
