hi everybody

we are off for our first visit to disneyland in sept and can't wait!

would love to stay at Villas at grand californian - has anyone had an success at getting these at 7 months?

VGC is our home resort, but both times that we've stayed there I've booked at about two or three months out. The first time was April of last year and the next is coming up in a couple of weeks. It's just worked out for us.

We went there last year at the end of August/beginning of September. We booked 4 months out.

im really glad to hear this, we are planning a trip out west for 2012 and will have to book at the 7 month window. Since we live close to Disney World we are really excited to see other Disney properties!

I got a studio for the first week of May at 7 months.

My suggestion is to call first thing at the 7 month mark. I booked 3 days for this April at the 7 month mark. I called about 3 hours after they opened. The lady told me I had grabbed the last studio for that time period.

With Sept, you should be fine at 7 months (unless you are booking a GV - there are so few there). If it was any later, like 4 months or fewer, and you wanted LATE Sept, then your odds wouldn't be so hot.

My sis has done 2 Sept trips booking a 1 BR at 7 months with no issues.

It's kinda the luck of the draw, but I have booked VGC at 7 months out or less four times with success.
-The first time was in October on rented points for 1 night in a two bedroom. Booked 2-3 months out
-The second time was 2 nights in March during my Spring Break in a two bedroom. Booked maybe 5 months out????
-The third, booked at the 7 month mark, is coming up in a few days in a two bedroom.
-And finally a studio for my sister and her hubby as a gift in May booked at the 5 month mark. On that one I had to waitlist for the night she really wanted, but it came through about 2 weeks ago.

I was able to book a 1 bedroom this morning right at 7 months. I was only able to get 6 nights though so we are going to have to move to the Disneyland Hotel for the Saturday and Sunday night of Labor Day weekend. We are very excited that we were able to book this!

Wow I can't beleive all the luck everyone is having getting their rooms at less than 7 months. Will have to make a mental note of going at that time when our kids are out of the house and in college!

We stayed there last year in July and made reservations just a couple days past the 7th month mark. There were no studios available but we did get a 1 Bdrm. Let me just say that you will love it, it is amazing!

You should have no problem, I have booked twice now using SSR points a few months out with no problem. September is the slowest period at DLR, and the weather is excellent. You should have a great time.

We were there for a week last July in a 2 bedroom and booked 7 months out. I just love it there, maybe even a little better than WDW......

I went on a wait list in November for a studio for a weekend at the Grand Californian villas in February. My waitlist came through within 2 weeks of booking.
