Villas & Flights Suggestions Please

Hi All,

We are in the process of working out costs for a second trip to Disney next May. We'd love a villa and last time had a last minute hitch with a family member letting us down on acommodation and managed to get a fantastic 5 bed 10 mins from disney for £1400. We are now obviously planning our next trip WITHOUT any hindering relatives and I'm a little stuck where to begin looking for a villa. I've heard so many horror stories about villas where deposits have been lost due to foreclosures on the villas it worries me about who is a respectable villa owner and won't let us down!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - we're a family of 4 - boys will be 9 (10 whilst away) and 7. We really only need 2 beds but would love a pool of our own and not to far away from disney.

Also are Virgin the cheapest to fly with??

Sorry but another question my eldest as I've mentioned will be 10 whilst we would be there do you have any ideas of a special birthday treat for a 10 year old star wars/indiana jones loving etc. boy???

If you are worried about booking a private villa and you have not already looked at flights, I would probably advise you to contact places like Travel City Direct and Virgin Holidays. They can give you a package price for flights, villa and a car.

At least that way, you will be sure that your accomodation will be fine.

Also, you could try for the same kind of packages, Thomas Cook/ Thomson/ First Choice (think these are all merged) to see the price difference.

I think its hard to say who is the cheapest to fly with, I think all of the companies vary depending on when you go, your best bet is to shop around!

Sorry that I cant help you with the birthday treat, with no children of my own yet, Im not clued up on that kind of thing!!

Thanks for the reply - I popped to the travel agents this morning for a quick check and I have to say I'd feel more confident booking myself - my word the lack of knowledge was shocking!!

I've decided after that visit that my villa price I've been quoted which was £1200 is a great deal although villa is bigger than we need it'll be great none the less and I've since realised that we can use our miles (wasn't sure what they were for!) against the cost of a flight so we can book that for £1500. Just need to get them booked now!

Still looking for that birthday treat so any help greatly received!!

I know you said Star Wars/Indy but the Pirates and Pals firework cruise might be suitable for a birthday - also you may well catch Star Wars Weekends if you go late May, they're usually last 2 weekends in May, first 2 in June but they do sometimes change.

I used to be a travel agent myself and I would never book at a Travel Agents either - even when I worked as a Travel Agent, with my discount, I still always found cheaper holidays online.

For packages, I use Virgin Holidays online and also Travelcitydirect.com.

When I have got miles to use, Virgin Atlantic and then usually look for my accomodation on greatlatedeals.co.uk. Think they are very expensive for villas though but we only use hotels unless we are going with a big group (there is only me and my hubby!)

Treat for a Indy 10 year old, the hand feeding expedience at Gatorland, thats alot of fun! They now do night tours as well, but ive not been.
