Good morning RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). Last week's question was about staying entertained on the run and a lot of folks listen to music as their option of choice. It just so happens that Disney has a couple of movies featuring some relatively popular music, so let's keep with the music theme. What are your top 3 Disney movies (Pixar counts) from a musical standpoint?
SAFD: My first two positions are easy, but then it gets hard to choose simply because there are so many good choices.
- Nightmare Before Christmas. What can I say, I love this movie and it's loaded with great songs from top to bottom. "This Is Halloween" and this is far and away my favorite musical movie. It's not from the movie itself, but I particularly enjoy Marilyn Manson's version of that iconic song.
- Moana. From "We Know the Way" to "Shiny" to The Rock singing "You're Welcome", nobody knows "How Far I'll Go" just to rewatch this movie so I can listen to its soundtrack.
- Hercules. This spot was tough, but there's enough here to just edge out the competition. From the Muses to Meg to Hercules himself, the soundtrack pulls this movie from relative obscurity. A "Zero the Hero" situation, if you will.
