I'll be booking a studio in a few days. I've been there and love it but would like some pointers. I will ask for a lake view but any other pointers? Thanks for your help!:earsgirl:

Ask for a POOL View, high floor and close to the elevator. This will give you the best chance of a view of the lake.

VWL is a great resort as are all DVC resorts.
Have a wonderful trip.

Can you see the MK fireworks on an upper floor on the parking lot/bus stop side?

You cannot view MK fireworks from any room at VWL. WL is between you and the fireworks. Even at WL, you need to be on the MK side (by the dock) and on one of the top two floors to see the highest fireworks. So in short, WL is not a great MK firework viewing place.

As for tips? I don't know the ages of those in the OP's party, but I would definitely spend one evening on the beach there and watch the Electric Water Pageant.

Take the free tour of the Lodge...very interesting.

If you like hidden Mickey's, they've got a sheet they had out where you can search them out within the premises.

The geyser goes off every hour, I think. Just an added part of the theming.

You'll have a great trip...enjoy it!:)

We've always had that side of the building, usually towards the end and upper floors and have never been able to see the fireworks. The angle is all wrong. If you go out on the observation deck at the Lodge you can see some of the higher shots.

Thank you for all your help. Yes, I meant Bay Lake. So it's pool view, high floor, near elevator! Thanks!:bounce:

Ask for room 2531. It is a second floor corner room with both a pool and woods view. Near the elevators, right across from the recycling room, but still very quiet. IMO it was the perfect Studio. I could not have asked for a better room. Here is a link to my VWL Studio Room Report.

I agree with everyone here, ask for a pool view. Not much can go wrong beyond that. Have fun!!

We had studio 3503, within a short walk of the elevators and then the buses and the lodge. It was too cold when we went, but if you sat on the balcony, you see a sliver of the lake.

We may have "lucked out" but we stayed in VWL (third floor last room on the "bay lake" side) in a studio in January. And you could see quite a bit of the fireworks from the balcony.

This new Wishes firework show is positioned differently than the old show.

So, depending where you are...you may very well get lucky on the firework side.

Laura....good point. My comments were definitely pertaining to the "old" fireworks. Sounds like the "Wishes" can be viewed from some locations.

Looks like we'll have to update the "room views" at VWL now to include the "fireworks views". :p

I am all confused.

We may have "lucked out" but we stayed in VWL (third floor last room on the "bay lake" side) in a studio in January. And you could see quite a bit of the fireworks from the balcony.
Laura did you have room 3563 (Studio) which is at the very end of the hall, Bay lake side, and you could see the "Wishes" fireworks? I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks a bunch.
