Villas at Wilderness Lodge question

stink said:
My crew and I will be at VWL the last week in September. Never stayed at the villas. Have stayed at the WL before villas were built. Are there any villa locations that stand out, some with better views than others, closer to the main lodge etc ?

Any Villa Recommendations are greatly appreciated ! :cool1:
And any tips for staying at the lodge in general !
Granny and I have agreed before--VWL is a superb resort. If you can avoid the very last rooms at the end of the hallway, then I would given that is where the laundry is delivered and there is a dumpster or two, as well. Other than that, we love VWL's accomodations. The Villas are right next to WL proper, and even from the farthest room at the end of the hallway, you can be in the main lobby inside of three minutes.

As for recommendations, here's a short list:
1) Use the Hidden Springs pool and spa. It's the pool closest to the Villas and easily the less crowded of the two pools at WL. It has no slide, but it's great pool to relax in or by, nonetheless. And if you really want to go to the main pool, it's only a minute away.
2) Rent a bike, walk, or run the trail to FW. It's a mile one way, and makes for a nice, relaxing stroll. . .or in my case, an enjoyable run. You could very well see wildlife such as deer or hawks--I have seen both.
3) Kick back in the Iron Spike Room--it serves as the "lobby" for the Villas. There is no check-in desk or cast member actually working in the Villas building lobby, though you may catch a DVC employee on occasion. Anyway, you can read a book, sip a drink, talk, play checkers, or just relax.
4) If you want a workout, the Sturdy Branches health club is on the bottom floor located off the Iron Spike Room. I've never seen it crowded.
5) Try one of the new sandwiches at Roaring Forks grill. They're quite delicious and reasonably priced. . .for Disney. ;)
6) Do a Hidden Mickey search. They have cheat sheets at the concierge desk.
7) And if you haven't tried Artist Point, then do so. Although they do welcome kids, my wife and I like to make that our own personal dining experience while at VWL. We drop our daughter at Cubs' Den, then walk the one minute it takes to get to AP. We enjoy a leisurely-paced meal that is combined with excellent food, wine, and service. All the while, our daughter is enjoying herself, too.

Enjoy your stay! :thumbsup2
