I HAVE READ THROUGH THE WL PAGES AND LEARNED SO MUCH. HOWEVER, WE ARE STAYING AT THE VILLAS AND I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS CONCERNING OUR STAY THERE.

CAN YOU BE A FLAG FAMILY IF YOU ARE IN THE VILLAS?

IF YOU HAVE STAYED IN THE VILLAS-WHAT WAS YOUR IMPRESSION OF THEM? WE WILL BE STAYING IN A 2 BR VILLA, POOL VIEW ROOM. WE PURCHASED POINTS FROM A DVC MEMBER.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON AND WE ARE SOOO EXCITED!! PLEASE GIVE ME ANY HELPFUL HINTS TO MAKE THIS TRIP WONDERFUL. I HAVE BEEN PLANNING THIS FOR MY FAMILY FOR 1-1/2 YEARS NOW AND I WANT IT TO BE AWESOME! ANY IDEAS YOU HAVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. JUST THINKING ABOUT 10/17/02, OUR DEPARTURE DATE, MAKES ME TEAR UP. (MY HUSBAND THINKS I AM NUTS-HA!) :earsgirl: :earsboy:  :earseek:  :teeth: :jester: :bounce:

KMB,

I don't know what a FLAG Family is, so I can't help you there. As fara s the VWL goes a Pool-View is nice. Depending on where (how high up) you are you should have a view of the geyser and MK from your balcony. I a VWL owner, and have not yet stayed there, but stayed at the WL last October. We are actually leaving on the 17th as well...quick stop-over in HH and then onto the BCV on the 18th.

Have you gotten tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party yet? We did it l/y and will be there again this year. Lots of fun. VWL is actually closer to the Bus Stops than some rooms in the WL, which can be helpful when trying to round up a big family or group for EE into the parks. (We ran late a few times last stay)

Hope that helps! Have a great time!

I believe you can be a Flag Family if you are staying at VWL, just ask when you check in. Just to let you know, there are VERY few pool view rooms at VWL, and what you have is only a requrested view, not guaranteed. Most of the views at the Villas are of Woods, very peaceful. I want you to know that so you won't be disappointed if you don't get a pool view. Also, the pool that you get a pool view is that of the quiet pool, not the main pool at WL.

We stayed at the WLV last September and got to be the flag family. It was awesome. But make sure you ask as soon as you get there as this is a very popular event. We had a 1 bedroom and view of the quiet pool. We could also see the electric light pageant at night from our balcony. It's a wonderful place to stay. The ride to the MK by boat is a plus too. Enjoy!!!!

Here is a link to Deb's Website WL FAQ.

On the bottom of the page they have first hand accounts of people who were Flag Family.

We are going home to VWL for the first time in 2 weeks! :)

We can't wait!!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa in March. I think our room was a courtyard view, bur from the master bedroom we did have a view of the quiet pool. We were on third floor and couldn't see beyond the pool that much because of the trees. WQe could see trees beyond the pool, a little water and more trees beyond that. If any of the pool view rooms have a view that includes MK, they would have probably to be further up than third floor. I'm not sure we were even facing in the direction of MK. Even if you have a courtyard or woods view, it's still very nice and looks like you are in the mountains someplace.

As mentioned, there are few pool views at the VWL. Those that are pool views are of the villa's quiet pool and hot tub. We had this view last Christmas - it was great!

You will not have a view of the geyser - that is only visible at the WL. You will also not have a view of MK - that is only visible at certain sections of WL. You will, however, be able to see the tops of the MK fireworks if your room faces toward MK. Also, if you are on the bay side you will be able to see the Electric Water pagaent through the trees.

The VWL is a spectacular resort! We have stayed there 3 times - twice with a pool view and once with a woods view. 1 bedroom. All views are nice. The villas are restful and quiet.

Your only issue may be the new transportation route. I'll be interested in hearing your comments!

Enjoy! :p

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT INFORMATION, KEEP IT COMING. I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME OUT. I AM SURE I WILL HAVE MANY MORE QUESTIONS AS THE DAYS CONTINUE TO COUNT DOWN. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Hi.

We're coming in on the 22nd to the Villas! We're DVC members at the Wilderness Lodge. This will be our first stay at the villas as members. We've stayed three different times at the Wilderness Lodge, though. It's such a great place. I think staying anywhere at the Wilderness Lodge will be wonderful (villas or main lodge). The two bedroom should be fabulous. You may decide to become DVC members after your stay!

Can you walk to Fort Wilderness for some of their activities, Hoop-di-Doo, Camp Fire etc? If so, how long a walk is it?

I don't know if you can walk, but it's the first stop on the boat that takes you across the lake to the MK.

There is a woodland track from WL to Fort Wilderness. I think it is about a mile, so you could walk. Not certain about the distance as we hired bikes and went to the petting farm but, it didn't take long at all and hiring bikes was fun.
