villa /suite

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there we have had a change of plan and find ourselves needing some help. We are a family of four (children aged 10 and 8) traveling to orlando 9th Aug to 30th. We will be staying ten nights at pop (free dining) and six nights at RPR (front of line pass). We were planning to go to Anna Maria for the first part of the holiday, as we love the wild beaches there, but now because its only for 5 nights we have changed our mind and fancy villa /suite in orlando area.
Can i tell you what we want and perhaps u can advise.
2 bed minimum
private pool
jacuzzi (if possible)
communal pool as lovely as possible with slides and lazy river posh!
Secluded/natural/green setting birds to spot etc

Doesnt have to be close to Disney etc as that is the next bit of the hols.

Any help tips would be welcome

Hi

Have you thought about a Condo at the Reunion Resort?

I have booked a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo there for my husband, two year old daughter and myself for later this year. The one I have booked is like http://www.vrbo.com/90651 - but I booked through the resort company itself. Not that I don't trust booking directly with an owner, just that I wanted maid-service (housekeeping) which isn;t included if you rent direct from an owner...

There are other properties at Reunion available here - http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rental...ntral-disney-orlando/kissimmee/reunion-resort

No private pool, but it appears to have great communal pools, a kids water play area and a lazy river. Have a look at the Reunion Resort homepage - http://www.reunionresort.com/reunion/reunion_home.aspx

I believe that some other people on these boards have stayed there and can recommend it. Looks good for some luxury and peace and quiet a litt bit further away from the madness of Disney.

Thanks Alice (thats my daughters name by the way). Funnily enough thats the one that was jumping out from my quick search this pm it certainly looks lovely. Thanks for the links I wonder what the availiability is like?

Hi sammyteach

It does look good, doesn't it? Obviously I can't speak for the experience (since I haven't been there yet), but it really appeals...

Presumably you want August 9th - 14th (the first 5 nights of your holiday)? If you minded not having housekeeping (i.e. making your own beds and keeping the place fairly tidy/clean - shouldn't be too bad for 5 nights), then the apartment I linked to (http://www.vrbo.com/90651) is free for your stay. That type of apartment at Reunion appeals because it is very spacious, has a luxury kitchen (and bathrooms) and big balconies...

Renting direct from the resort is definitely more expensive - so better value for money if you will rent direct from an owner.

If you look at the other properties at Reunion on VRBO, then you will see some villas as well as apartments - some look REALLY fab! All/most have their own private pools. I would be very tempted to rent a house if my daughter (only coming up to 2 years old) was a little older: at the moment I feel more secure with a condo all on onbe floor and no private pool - easier to keep an eye on Lucy! Since you kids are slightly older, you might want to consider renting a villa house...

Some of the villas are quite expensive, though - more expensive than villas on other developments that is. Still, renting direct from an owner seems to bring the cost down somewhat...

Hopefully others will give you more different ideas :)

Have fun choosing and let us know what you decide.

Best Wishes,
Alice

I do not disagree about Reunion, it's a brilliant place to stay but can be expensive, although as Alice says cheaper if you book with an owner direct.

Windsor Palms, Emerald Island and Terre Verde all in Kissimmee have community pools and are very well located for all the attractions, as well as restaurants and supermarkets.
Although most of the homes are 4 bedroomed and bigger they may still be an option perhaps.

It is possible the odd owner would not take a rental booking for less than 7 nights.

Generally some of the better villa websites are:

www.villas2000.com
www.holiday-rentals.com
