Villa owners - couple of questions

I´ve asked similar questions before and valued all your answers, but thought I´d do it again.

If you had to do it all over again, would you buy a vacation home in Florida again? Would you do it now, as the market is at the moment? Where would you buy and what size?

I know that everyone´s situation is different and that´s why I ask what YOU would do. I´m not trying to get you to answer what I should do.

I would do it over again! It's a buyers market right now, real estate is down. Exchange rates against the US$ are strong right now as well.

It has been a lot of work and a lot more $$$$$.

I have to say I love it and it is worth it to us and would do it all over again.

We are only owners 6 months and to be honest the jury is still out on that one It is a lot of hard work which sometimes I think is paying off, other days it stresses me out! I could probably answer it better after my first year

Having owned for 10 years I have to say yes I would do it again but definitely not in Florida I would look somewhere else for another rental.Even though the prices are dropping getting renters is not easy and will only continue to be hard as Disney develops its plans.

Hi...been an owner since 2004 and at first found it hard as there was no where to find help as in a good managment company, places to look for furnishings etc other than the "package " companys that i found wanted to charge me a third more than it cost me to furnish my 5 bed villa by doing the furnishings myself as i found quite a bit on there package deals came from the likes of Walmart at double the price etc.
Didnt find any website that was orientated owners helping owners as many managment company or tour operator background to them and if you posted that you had issues then they shut you out as they basicaly wanted to run you and your villa.
This all resulted in me setting up a villa owners forum that is run by ordinary villa owners and has no answer to managment companys, builders or realtors and i often get people asking about ownership and where to get help and advice from ordinary owners so they get a realistic view of ownership and not a glossy picture painted by managment companys or realtors or builders who promise the earth and bookings galore that NEVER happen. Many owners have fallen fowl of the "guarenteed bookings" yarn spun them that has cost them there dream.
If i could do it again then yes i would, i do find it hard and time consuming but to talk to owners and share tips and guidance helps.
