Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

Didn't see any reward points chopped in half today but I did see that Best Buy is gone and now to get $25 for like amazon it's up to 50,000pts...wow....that's 13,000 additional points then a best buy was.

Oops, a little confusion. The rewards points are not chopped in half. The points you get for regular check-ins were chopped in half. Remember how you could earn 2 points per minute for 12 hours of check-ins? Viggle has decreased it to 1 point for one minute now.

Hope that clears it up! :thumbsup2

Ever since I started doing this, I've been able to earn a $10 itunes g.c. per week. That's the average. Sometimes I don't have time for it, and sometimes I have a lot of time and that makes up for the times when I can't get to it.

That said, I've been getting something for not a lot of effort. So yes, while it would have been nice if they would have notified us ahead of time that the points would drop for check ins, I'm not complaning.

Well, on the upside, the bonus events are higher points. I noticed earlier in the day that "The Voice" was 200 points, now it's 450.

Has anyone else had difficulty cashing in their points today? First it told me I had to log in (which I already was) then it told me I had to re-send the confirmation email to them before I could do anything. They seem to be assuming I'm a new user but I've been there for months and have cashed in several rewards.

Then tried to go to their Facebook page and it's no longer there.........or I can no longer access it for some reason.

So? Others having trouble today?

Technically, it isn't "free" stuff. If it was free then there would be nothing required by participants to recieve the rewards. Viggle is compensating those that participate for their time and in many cases their data plan usage. Each individual has to decide for themselves what level of compensation is worth their time/data. In order to really make Viggle worthwhile, you have to spend some time not just checking-in to programs but also watching the ads as well.

Personally, I have had fairly good luck with Viggle the past 2 weeks but I can see that if it will take me 2-3 times longer to earn similar rewards, then I will likely lose interest fairly quickly. The points increases and lack of interesting gc's only further my lack of interest in spending much time Viggling. Plus my DH is already irritated when I tell him to shush so I can check into a program 3 times an hour :rotfl:

Too bad they didn't increase all the shows, Smash is still 250 and Lost Girl is still 225. But yea, it's cool to see that most of the shows are now 300 points or more for the bonus check-in! :thumbsup2

I did a google search for Viggle's FB page, and I was able to access it. :thumbsup2

Haygan, totally agree with your comment. It seems very few people understand that Viggle is compensating you for your time. You're not getting anything for free. ::yes:: (You may be getting a great deal, but technically not free.)

I just started using it yday so I am still figuring it out a little. I see some people posting about trivia and games. I don't see anything like that? where do you go for that? also, for an hour show, do you have to watch the whole hour? or if you have it DVR'ed and fast forward the commercials does it take out the 20 (30 haha) minutes? just curious.

PS also, if you leave it running in the background apps and you do something else like, go on facebook or play words with friends or whatnot, does it keep logging your show? (i do have a touch of ADD and might do 3 things at once. hehe).

thanks! :yay:

The trivia appears under certain shows on certain days, for example American Idol usually does trivia while the show airs. Refer to the Featured Shows list in the app. As far as games go...I've never seen any.

Once you have checked into a DVR show, the app will pay out points for the length of the show....So if you watch an hour long show, Viggle will keep you checked in for that whole hour, even if you fast forward during commercials.

In the past I have had problems getting kicked out of the app when checked into a show. So if you are out and about, then obviously you can't check back in. But if it happens when you're at home, just check back in to start earning points again.

Can someone please tell me if I can check into more than 1 bonus show to get more points? Like if I do The Voice at 8, then another bonus show at 9, will I get full credit for both shows?

Thanks, trying to figure out how I only earn a couple thousand points a day when more people earn way more.

Yes, you can. You only need to be checked into each Featured Show for 10 minutes to get the bonus points. I can easily do 5 shows per hour....you get the hang of it after awhile! :thumbsup2

Viggle is making it difficult to earn tons of points each day. Ads/videos have become very sparse recently. You need to be really diligent about hitting as many ads/videos as you can day and night.

I have a feeling that they changed more than the points per minute.....as I have checked into 3 shows so far from 9-10pm and only received the per minute points not the bonus points! I hope I am wrong and my bonus points will show up later, but I was logged into each show for 15min and received no bonus points yet.

What happens if you check out of a show too early...like at 9 mins. if you go back in again do you need to log in for an entire 10 mins or is it just 1 min...

I went with another 10 just to be safe.

Everyone always says they only need to be in the show for 10 minutes to get the bonus points but that has not worked for me. I think I need to be in the show for the whole time to get the bonus points. I just do one bonus show per hour.

Unless they changed the policy, it has been 10 minutes. But the catch is you have to be in for the full 10 minutes. There was an instance where I checked into another show during that 10 minute mark, so Viggle wouldn't give me the bonus points, because they said it needs to be a full 10 minutes. So I do 11 minutes now.

All my points have been rolling in, including bonus points. For those not seeing any points, Viggle could be on a delay in updating points. Sometimes it depends on what time zone you're in. I'm east coast....

That's a very good question, and I don't know the answer....I've always done what you did: check in for another 10 minutes just to be safe!

Anyone else know? popcorn::

that was the other thing i wondered, if you had to stay on the same show the whole time. i was wondering how people got 12k points in a day! :) i saw someone write about trivia and games, i guess the "games" were types of things like predictions who would win the grammys etc.

Also sometimes there is quite a lag in delivering points...I woke up with 3 thousand more points this morning then was in my account when I went to bed for that reason...

Yeah, I figured that out too but sometimes that works and other times not so much. It even recognized the background noise of my classroom as Dr. Oz, which was funny.

I'll probably keep doing it on the nights when my husband isn't home. It'll take me forever to get any gift cards, lol.

if it recognizes it as another show (or not at all), instead of confirming it, you just deny and try again- after that happens twice, it just has you type in the name of the show- as long as the show is currently live (not dvr) you can manually check in that way with no audio confirmation!!
