Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

I'm out.. less points can be earned yet they want more for a decent reward.. it's not worth my time anymore..

I know for myself, as well as others, that we always looked at the 12,000 daily point limit as a goal to reach. But according to Viggle Support, the daily limit is merely an anti-fraud measure. It was never intended to be a number that people could reach.

Very interesting, I had always wondered about that. So with the decreased ads, and 1 point per minute of regular check-ins, I'm guessing that Viggle only wants people to reach maybe 3,000 to 4,000 points daily?

I'm getting all this info from Viggle Support twitter page...interesting how they are responding to many member's questions, gripes, etc. popcorn::

We should all start posting our daily points just to get an idea of how high we can get. I know for yesterday I didn't crack 5,000 points. :sad2:

YEAH!!! I just got 2 $25.00 Target GC. I just need 25,000 more to get another one too! It does not bother me that they are changing things. My DH and I are both just happy to be getting some extra income for our Disney trip. I am a stay at home mom and love that I can do little extra things like this to help!

diznee25, Thanks for posting this! Like others, I will expect that the cards will take more Viggle points to get, but as others have also said, it's "free money" that I wouldn't have access to otherwise!

I've figured out how to check-in without having to change the channel... just do a regular check-in but created enough background noise (a low hum or something) so that your device can't detect the program that's actually airing. You have to do that twice and then you can manually search for what you're wanting to check in to. That's the compromise we came up with so I'm not switching channels to let my device do the auto recognition check-in. If I'm the only one watching, I'll switch the channel but if others in my family are also watching, I don't (unless it's a commercial). Like you, we watch a lot of DVRed programs. The thing about Viggle is that it's introducing me to shows I didn't even know were on and now I want to watch!!! (oops, guess it's doing it's job then, right?)
Yeah, I figured that out too but sometimes that works and other times not so much. It even recognized the background noise of my classroom as Dr. Oz, which was funny.

I'll probably keep doing it on the nights when my husband isn't home. It'll take me forever to get any gift cards, lol.

I had a real hard time getting any points last night so I just stopped. I think I earned about 3,500ish. My DH was watching the Masters so that gave us almost 1,000 for the day.

Wow, you must have been saving those points for awhile...good for you! :cool1:

Unfortunately I had been cashing out every 14,000 points for Sephora GCs for the past couple weeks. So at the moment I'm only at 20,000 points. Target GCs will probably run out before I have a chance to get them!

Same here! Every little bit helps, right?

I will say that I am happy I am getting free money but I would have liked it if Viggle would at least give some sort of warning to customers who are currently using their app. For example, if they know that they are going to raise the points for a gift card...then warn your customer. I just don't like when I am saving up for something and then it doesn't work as I was expecting it to.

It is their right as a company to change things up but I just feel that good customer service would go a long ways.

I do not have any Target GC but with all the talk about them a few weeks ago, I checked my local one to see if they had any Disney GC and I did not see any. Are these with the regular GC's?

I totally agree with this. ::yes::

I'm certainly not mad like other Vigglers on Twitter, per say but I would have liked a warning. It doesn't take that long to type out a global e-mail to Viggle members, or post something on FB/Twitter. And had they done this, there probably wouldn't be such an uproar as there is now on FB and Twitter. Some of the outraged Vigglers found out about the decrease in points when they saw pop up windows for stuff they checked into this morning.....not a fun way to find out the points were chopped in half! :headache:

I have been holding out for a long time hoping Target would come back.

I found the Disney GC back by the movies and CD's at my Target. They had a bunch of other GC too! Also I did seen them at the check out too! They came in $25 or $50

Didn't see any reward points chopped in half today but I did see that Best Buy is gone and now to get $25 for like amazon it's up to 50,000pts...wow....that's 13,000 additional points then a best buy was.

I wish they would keep the same GC's.....just replenish them on a certain schedule so if you are saving for a particular store.....you can still keep on saving knowing they will be replenished eventually. I have $100 in Best Buy GC's....wanted to save for an iPad.....but who knows now.

Anyone else have a hard time this Saturday checking into TKAM? It took me a good 15 minutes. My SIL and BIL were over and they thought I was crazy. I didn't want to get into the whole Viggle thing with them.

Yeah, I figured that their server was slammed with everyone trying to check in for their required 10 minutes for the bonus. So after it wouldn't check in easily, I waited until 8:15 and got in no problem. And was able to do some of the trivia along the way.

I am so excited. I got my microphone in the mail today and just checked in to my first show. So far I have 4200 pts watching commercials and such. I should be able to get so much more now.

I started Viggling a week ago Friday - it took me the full week to get 37,500 for a Best Buy redemption, so that's about 5,350/day. That's averaging, though, as some days I got more and others I got less. Since 11 p.m. Friday, I'm at 17,600 points so in 2 1/2 days of full-on Viggling (and getting the 1,000 TKAM points plus trivia, etc.), that puts me averaging about 7,000. Last night I got as many bonus points per hour as were available - but I can't / don't / won't always do that.

I added up the points available for bonus tonight plus the 12-hours of watching (720) and came up with less than 4,000 if you get all the bonus, are checked in for a full 12 hours and don't do any ads or shares. I figure you can get 500-750 ad points if you check early in the morning (this morning, I got 400 points just from hitting the Bethenny 50-pointer I found on the Being Human featured show page) and then check throughout the day. I also find that it seems to give me more "point ads" if I do the ad-council ones when the others "dry up" - the point ones come back pretty quickly. Not sure if that's real or just my imagination.

Also, when you share, you don't have to have the tweet / facebook update be what it says - you can change it and just post a regular facebook or tweet sort of thing - you'll still get the 5 points. On Facebook it will show that you posted via Viggle. On Twitter, it looks like a regular tweet from you. I started changing that up a bit when a friend "commented" on how much TV I was watching via twitter. I don't know if you get 5 points every time you share because I don't always check and I don't always share but again, if you get 50 points in a day, that's good!

I have been getting 12k per day but I couldn't this weekend. I got 11k on Sat and about 7500 yesterday. On days I have classes it's too hard to get a lot of points since I'm using a touch and not a phone. I can only do the ads at home then.

I snatched up the target GC this morning. :cool1: I'd been waiting for it for a while. I only had about 60,000 points and I've been working on that for quite a while. We are out of the house most of the day so don't get to check in too often.

The way I figure it, it's their game so it's their rules, I'd didn't think it would last this long so I'll take what I can get.
