Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

:confused3I got into American Idol fine but my mom couldn't for the life of her. She shut down her itouch completely and restarted and was then able to get in fine

Many Viggle members posted on FB about not being able to check-into American Idol as well, how weird! When I would check-in it kept telling me I was watching Dr. Oz. Apparently Ryan Seacrest sounds like Dr. Oz! And the manual check-in never worked. Oh, well. I still got bonus points that hour for watching The Biggest Loser.

Too funny (well not really) I had the same issues with AI and it kept telling me it was Dr. Oz :scared1: It finally worked after about 8 mins. :rotfl2:

I decided to go ahead and redeem 8k for the movie ticket as it dawned on me we will want to go see the Titanic in 3D when it comes out in April and these movie tickets are up to $13 so that should cover it. I'm just so nervous about losing them or them just not having what I want to use my points on ~ c'mon Target cards!! :rotfl:

My husband and I were talking last night, and we came up with a way to use other rewards on Viggle to help us save for our WDW vacation. Now this is really going to depend on your regular spending habits, so this may not work for everyone.

In my monthly budget, I have an entertainment category and there is a certain amount of $$ in it. We usually spend that on things like going to the movies, eating out, Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, etc. See where I'm going with this! ;)

So last night I redeemed for 2 movie tickets. I'll just take that out of our entertainment budget and put it back for vacation! The money won't be missed because we would have used it for the movies anyway.

This is a great way to continue to save for a vacation without having to rely on Target GC. My husband pointed out that Viggle doesn't keep them consistantly stocked all the time, and when the cards to come back, they go pretty quickly. (I recall a 3 or 4 weeks ago that Viggle had $15 Target gift cards, and they were gone within a few hours! Heard about it on FB, but they disappeared before I could get any. And I haven't seen the $5 cards in a long time!)

I'm still going to keep an eye out for Target GCs, but it's nice that I don't need to rely on them.

This idea isn't necessarily new, it's been on the Disboards for years, but it hasn't been mentioned in use with Viggle rewards.

I agree with the ideas about using the rewards that are available. I was thinking the same thing. So I went to look at what I could buy for stuff that we actually have to spend money on. (we don't go to the movies much, nor do we do Starbucks or Barnes and Noble regularly) I was looking at Foot Locker thinking that I may find shoes that I could buy. In general, the shoes are more expensive than what I usually buy for my kidlets, but...they have baseball pants! It is highly likely I will need one or two more pairs of those this year, and they are the usual $20. So I am likely going to order some of those cards. I think I can get 4 of them right now.

In the Viggle rewards catalog, the Ipod shuffle is listed as "limited quantity." I guess some gift cards run out too quickly to be labeled as that!

Just noticed limited quantity on Amazon Kindles as well.

So if anyone was thinking about getting an Ipod Shuffle, might want to do it soon! :thumbsup2

Just found this thread! Very interesting app...so I just downloaded it on my kid's iPods...as I have a 3rd gen with no microphone. Rewards do not look so great at the moment....no low point iTunes or Target GCs, but I guess they come and go. Will play along for a while and see what happens!

:welcome: Yea, you just sort of have to keep an eye on the gift cards, they add/change frequently. As for the Itunes gift cards, I haven't seen a denomination lower than a $10 gift card. But for Target they have offered $5 and $15 gift cards in the past.

Hope you have fun with Viggle. :goodvibes It has introduced me to shows I wouldn't normally watch, which is not necessarily a good thing because I'm watching more TV than I usually would! :rotfl2:

Viggle is having another Twitter sweepstakes that starts (sometime) today. A chance to win a $100 Best Buy gift card! Contest is only for two days, March 1st and March 2nd.

Also FYI for anyone interested, Viggle ran out of JC Penny gift cards.

I have enough to get 3 Target GC. I really hope that they get some in soon. This is driving me crazy. :scared1::scared1: It seems that they are really running out of things fast.

If it helps, a few Viggle members are asking about Target GCs on Facebook. It probably wouldn't hurt for anyone wanting Target GCs to e-mail Viggle about it. ;) Maybe it'll keep it fresh in their minds when they are refilling the rewards catalog.

Like I said before, it's interesting how Viggle reassured everyone that Amazon cards would be coming back when those ran out. But they haven't said one word about Target GCs. Not that that means anything...just an observation on my part. :scratchin

Chilis too. Their gift cards are dropping like flies and nothing seems to be getting restocked. I'm tempted to cash out my rewards before there is nothing left.

I redeemed out today. I chose things I can transfer immediately, like Starbucks to my card and Best Buy to an actual card mailed to me. I do this because the already redeemed Amazon codes mentioned on Slickdeals make me nervous.

Also, this post from FB made me leary (someone was asking about the Target gift cards):

Viggle: we want to keep our rewards catalog fresh and exciting, so look for it to continue to change and evolve. Rest assured, your fave rewards will make their way back into the catalog over time!

That said, I have made $60 with this app so far: $30 Target, $25 Best Buy, and $5 Starbucks. Honestly, it's my opinion that they are going to increase the point amount for rewards and are letting the current ones sell out. I don't know anything, it's just the feeling I get, especially with some people having multiple accounts.

As the rewards sell out, you can what the favorites and not so favorites are. There are a few I just don't understand why they are even in the rewards catalog; The Travelocity and Score Big (for event tickets). Can't imagine that these would ever be redeemed frequently, let alone sell out.

I think Viggle needs to keep tabs on the popular rewards, keep those in stock, and get rid of the ones that aren't moving. :thumbsup2

Now I'm sure people will start posting like mad, "Oh, I've redeemed for Score Big." or "Oh, I get the Travelocity GC all the time." But I'd doubt it!

Love this post, you nailed it! This is exactly what me and DH have been thinking as well. :thumbsup2 I'm able to cash out for a $10 gift card every 4 or 5 days and I don't even hit the 12,000 points per day limit. So imagine if everyone did that....I don't know how Viggle would stay in business! Granted, there is a $550 reward cap per calendar year for everyone, but still... I don't think it's Viggle's intention for everyone to redeem $50 every single month in rewards. Or like that one person (from FB) who already redeemed an Amazon Kindle and has enough points to get another one already!

I'm surprised to hear that people have multiple accounts. Rules are one account per person.....I don't know how you would have more than one account.....:confused3 To be honest, with the way Viggle has been suspending/closing accounts I wouldn't dare try opening a second account!

diznee25

But can't each person in your house have an account? I think that is what they mean. We only have 1. My husband is the one with the iphone, but work is giving him a ipad so I was going to put my name on that account.

I think that they will raise the point value for gift cards and that is why everything is running out. I just don't see how they can be so low on everything and not restock.

I know I will kick myself later, but I will still hold out for Target. I am trying to pay this upcoming Disney Trip all in gift cards that I get from different places and surveys that I do. It is a long shot, but I accept:laughing:

I don't know about the multiple accounts, either. It's just been mentioned on Slickdeals.net on the 250+ viggle thread. Some interesting stuff over there...
