Views at VWL?

Please can someone tell me what views are available at VWL - we've never stayed there before.

We don't normally make specific room requests but from the plan it looks like there might be some views over the lake which would be nice.

Trees between you and the lake....trees between you and the parking lot. Sometimes you can glimpse something between the trees - the glint of light off windshield or water.

(The vast majority of rooms look at trees - and you really can't see much beyond the trees)

We had a couple of nice rooms when I asked for a view of the pool area. Plus it was close to the elevators. On our last trip I didn't request any room and we ended up at the very end of the hallway. The LAST Room! After walking all day around the parks, I thought I needed a wheelchair by the time I reached our room!

We had those rooms one year - they are dedicated studios side by side on both sides of the hall and we had all 4.

That was some hike.

Dont forget there is a lovely dumpster view at VWL as well.

I had gotten this room a couple of years back without even having requested it. Lucky me, right? I had seen mention of it on these and other boards and had no clue what specifically it was referencing until we "got the room". This is also right next to the CM smoking/break area as well so you get that as an added bonus should you be one of the lucky chosen few...

Thanks folks - hadn't realized there was so many good options to choose from!!

Shame about the trees blocking the views of the lake - I wonder why they don't thin them out a bit to enhance the view.

I like the trees - thinning them out, IMHO, would not be enhancing the view. Which may be why they don't do it - the trees make me feel like I'm in the wilderness - Bay Lake makes me feel like I'm at Disney World. I'm fondest of the resorts that take me somewhere other than Disney....its one of my favorite things about WL.

(I suspect the other part of that problem is that with trees on all sides of the resort, the lake and the parking lot are near equal in view. It is a LITTLE nicer to glimpse water through the trees. Thin out the trees and one view will be seen as superior to the other. Then you have issues at the front desk as people get demanding on which side of the resort they want to be on.)

most the views are woods.

there are few, very, very few views of the quiet pool and lake.

plus a couple of others views of the lake because of the hurricanes a few years ago.

ask for lake side,near elevators and high as possible.

Yes I can see just what you mean - hadn't thought about that.

I think as another poster said we'll probably ask for a high floor and hope for the best - a good view will be a bonus!

you stole my answer..trees, trees and more trees.
we stayed there once and being newbies requested the view so we could see the water parade. they DO have one of those views, IF you hang your head way out the balcony and squint hard you can see the water parade. Other than that, trees, oh and we also had agreat view over everyones balconies and in their rooms(we had some corner room tucked way back) I am not a wl fan and have no plans to stay there again. I like beach theme or at least animal theme with my trees
