Another question (thanks on the agent recommendations!).

I am looking at BWV. I am trying to decide on the right number of points. What fraction of the rooms are preferred view and what fraction are standard view? Is one room type much easier to get than the other? Does anyone think the preferred view is worth the extra points?

Thanks,

I don't know the percentage of rooms that are considered standard view versus those that are preferred, but I can tell you that the standard rooms are fewer in number and therefore go quicker. As far as the preferred view being worth it, it is all in the "eyes of the beholder." There are many who enjoy the standard view and stretch their points this way. Others love sitting on the balcony and enjoying the preferred view. I have always requested a boardwalk view, always made my reservation 11 months out, and have NEVER gotten the boardwalk view. We have ended up with a pool view. I would say it depends on your personal vacation habits and what you want to make work. I like to go and could always justify having more points. Hope this helps! :)

I think its either 16% or 20% that are standard view (whichever one it isn't is the % of boardwalk view, I think?). You'll get a lot of opinions on this but what I seem to hear repeatedly is that those who request the boardwalk view and continually don't get it eventually just start trying for standard view to save points.

I haven't stayed at BWV yet, but we're trying both standard and preferred views on our next trip...so we'll just see which we like better!

I do not know the percentage but I believe there are not that many standard views. We always call at the 11 month window and request boardwalk view, we have been very lucky and to date have always received our request. We will be down in November and I know at some point we will not have a boardwalk view but it is something we really enjoy and don't mind the extra points.

It's probably best not to plan your point purchase based on always getting a standard view. As others have said, there are fewer standard view rooms available and they do go quickly.

I've stayed in a standard view studio and a standard view 2 bedroom and thought they were just fine. (Standard view rooms overlook the Boardwalk entrance, driveway or parking lot/tennis court area. Some have said they think this area is noisy due to the buses, and some report that they can see portions of the EPCOT fireworks from these rooms). Personally, I do not think a preferred view is worth the extra points.

With all of that said, if you can always plan 11 months ahead and are prepared to call day by day, you can almost always get a standard view room. Good Luck. Hope to be able to welcome you home soon.
