I'm staying at the CONT with my 6-year-old for our first visit to WDW. Would it better for us to be in the MK for Wishes, or view it from the resort? I want my DD to hear the music and have a good view since it is her first time.
Do we have to eat at the California Grill in order to use the observation deck there?
Thanks!:earsgirl: :earsgirl:

They will pipe in the music and the narration to the California Grill. Still, I would go to MK. There is just something about BEING THERE. We don't go every year---we watch from other places from time to time (such as CG, or the viewing deck at the CR, before they closed it to the public :( ), but always try to squeeze in an up-close-and-personal viewing every so often.

Yes. Unfortunately they made the 15th floor deck for CG guests only about a year ago.

The 4th floor deck has a nice view. Go down by the liquor store and walk through the doors.

When we were there in early November, the observation deck was open to anyone. Others have posted similar experiences in the past months, but CG can always make whichever policy they choose. Just exit the elevator to the left and follow the hallway to one of the outside decks. The concrete wall is pretty tall, so small children usually need to be held. Music was piped in. While this is a great view, it's just not the same as being there.

You can always do both!
