Hi everyone, my family will be visiting DL on the 11th and 12th. I’d like for my little ones to be able to sit to watch the fireworks show if possible. Anyone have advice for where we can sit near castle and how early people tend to start claiming spots (if this is even an option?). I’d like them to be able to see the projections on the castle but wouldn’t be able to hold them up while standing. Thanks in advance for any wisdom!

There are benches around the Hub.
Left of center is the best bench (available to general public).
Right of center is used for VIP seating (usually).

You would likely need to hold the bench for several hours.

This is interesting - can you actually see well while sitting on the bench? There's a castle view?

We watch the fireworks pretty frequently with our 4-year-old, from a variety of locations, and I would have said there's nowhere for a child to sit and see projections... I enjoy learning new tips!

This is right next to where they sit the VIP’s so yes it’s a pretty good view of the whole show and usually fairly unobstructed by people in front. I’ve sat in the benches in that area a couple years ago and thought the view was nice (we were in the reserved seating but it’s about the same).

Is there VIP seating for the fireworks? I couldn't find anything for that. Just the parade and Fantasmic

Only with the VIP tours that run about $600/hr - or if you know someone via Club 33 i think sometimes they can arrange it too.

Yes. When you book a VIP tour, you can request seating for fireworks. The seats are in the center of the hub. Great view. And you can never tell who you will be sitting with. (Kobe Bryant was right behind me...)

OK, won't be doing that. :sad2: Have a Disney Cruise next month and saving those extra funds for a placeholder for our Alaska cruise. We will stand with the masses. lol Thanks!

Holding kids during the fireworks is not fun. We've really liked watching the fireworks from the Rivers of America, especially when they do the projections on the water screen. The crowds are so much better than on main street and we could all sit. There is one spot in front of the castle that has worked for us though. Facing the castle, on the left side of the hub there will be a walkway through the road. Generally from Frontierland to the hub. They don't put up the ropes right away, but if you can see the holes in the ground where the poles will go, just stand in the road right behind the holes. When the rope goes up, everyone in the walkway has to move and there is nobody directly in front of you. I'm assuming it is the same thing on the right side.

Thank you for this

That's my favorite spot! At least once during our trip I will park myself on that bench at 5pm for the fireworks. It is my happy place in the park. I can only imagine what it will be like for Christmas. I should probably take kleenex

Last year we did this trick to be near the rope line near the corn dog stand- it worked out great! Because there is a walkway in front of you they are moving people along and nobody can block your view!!

One thing to consider, though, is that it might be hard to access the ROA area if Fantasmic is showing that night and you are not watching Fantasmic. A couple years ago it was pretty empty after Fantasmic, but recent reports sound like it is much busier.
