Will guests still be able to view fireworks from monorail resorts after tragedy? My family is coming in for the 4th specifically to see the fireworks from the Grand Floridian on the 3rd (we have dinner reservations there as well). Will guests still be able to stand on the boat docks or grounds (obviously, not near the beaches)...?

I don't think anyone will know, at this time the marina and boat docks are closed. There is no info yet, if or when they may reopen.
Beaches in The MK resorts are only for resort guests, and especially for 4th of July fireworks CMs check MBs. To be fair to the people staying at those resorts. Can you imagine staying at those resorts and not being able to get on beach or viewing area because it's full of people from other resorts there to watch?

The best way to watch is to get reservations at Narcoossees and time it for fireworks. They pipe in the music and hsve a veranda to view from. We've done this and it was super. I've heard TTC is a great place to watch from too, they also pipe in music.

As I said, we already have dining reservations at the Grand Floridian. We dine here every 3rd of July and then stay for fireworks. They only check dining reservation number at the gate. If you don't have one, you are asked to leave. They have never checked MB's outside by the docks.

I can't imagine why they would restrict guests from the boat docks.

Maybe they only check at Poly beach? Didn't matter if you had dining Res. Beach area had nothing to do with dining. CMs were on beach checking.
Prob the lawn outside Narcossee would be best place since you will be able to hear the music from restaurant. It doesn't look like dock will be open soon?

I hope they are very strict about not allowing non-resort guests fireworks access. With beaches closed, it will be sheer chaos and create dangerous overcrowding if they allow anyone in. I hope they have very, very good security in place this year that denies all access to ensure deluxe resort guests can enjoy what they paid for. Frankly, I'd assume that it won't be allowed this year.

I am not staying deluxe, we are staying moderate so my opinion isn't influenced by staying at a deluxe and I have to say I completely agree. We are choosing to not pay deluxe prices which means we shouldn't get perks that people who do pay deluxe prices are paying for. I think if someone wants those great views, they need to pay for them and not take away from those who are paying for it.

OP i think you should either time your reservation for a time and restaurant you can see the fireworks from or should plan to watch them from MK or your own resort

Agreed. I stay at all different resorts and wouldn't expect to be allowed to watch fireworks from one I'm not staying at. This year, we are spending a lot to stay at Poly and I was already a bit concerned about uncontrolled crowds before. If the beaches remain closed and they continue to be lax in enforcement and security, I honestly have safety concerns because of how crowded walkways and grassy areas might become.

I think that the 3rd and the 4th this year are going to be up in the air and probably very chaotic at the monorail resorts, honestly. Just because they are putting in fences at the GF & Poly doesn't mean that the beaches will be open for fireworks viewing (although I'm sure that will be the case). I would prepare for the docks to be packed at GF due to people not wanting to be anywhere near the beach, and they may limit room on the grounds for resort guests only because of that. Any answers are speculation at this point, because I'm not even sure Disney knows what they're going to do at this point. Anything that happened in years past (like last year - July 3 & 4 saw Poly packed with so many people we and many other families who were paying to stay there couldn't get a spot on the beach or in grassy areas) isn't going to be a good reference for this year at the same time period because of recent events.

That was exactly my point. If WDW continues to have lax security on the 3rd/4th, it's going to create an even worse situation at the monorail resorts to the point of it even being a safety hazard. I sure hope that they have extra security and a plan to keep all non-resort guests OUT.

I get it, but we are paying to have dinner there, so I don't see why staying to watch the fireworks is a big deal. Honestly, it's no different than having a meal at the Poly, leaving your car there (valeting) and hopping over to the MK...People do it ALL the time...

Just because people do something doesn't make it right or fair to those who are paying lots of money to be at that resort. Lots of people try to stay for parties they didn't pay for and some get away with it. Under the same premise, they could say "well i paid to be here too"

I'm not here to argue. I simply asked a question about the fireworks. If you feel the need to be confrontational, go somewhere else...

I am staying at POFQ. You don't see me giving people grief for using the boats to go to Disney Springs if they aren't staying there. I don't care if people eat at a resort, park there and head off to the parks. The bottom line is that you need to do what you have to do to make YOUR vacation work for you..

I have 3 trips booked and paid for at Disney World this year, all on property, with one at the Grand Floridian. I don't feel the need to be berated for having plans to watch the fireworks from the Grand Floridian, especially since I have breakfast and dinner booked there on the 3rd for 7 people each meal...

I hope everyone enjoys their vacations!!!

If it became detrimental to PO guests, you'd complain. Say, if waits for launches grew to an hour because everyone else was using them. Same concept. From reports, it's become intrusive to the point of non-Poly guests standing directly in front of someone's patio or such crowding, you can't walk to/from your room easily. It should never have been allowed and I really, truly hope someone has the sense to add security now that the entire area of the beaches may be closed.

It is always funny to see how those with entitled attitude feel the need to defend themselves.

There is a difference between Disney transportation being used by all and blocking someone's balcony or patio when you aren't staying at a resort.

It is also sad with the attitude I am spending money for 7 people there-so that money is better than the paying resort guests?

With all the sadness in Orlando attitudes like this are sickening. Makes you miss the simpler Disney of years ago and society without entitled attitude or I am better.
