For the amount of time we actually spend enjoying "views", I think they are highly over-rated. We don't go to WDW to sit on the patio-balcony and smile at the scenery all day long. However, having said that, I think Doc's original point in the bad day at black rock thread is a very good one. Home resort owners who book way in advance should get some preference when it comes to assigning rooms. This is an easy thing to do, and DVC can do it if they would only choose to. Hopefully, the "pal Mickey" management types who are programmed to respond to the "requests are requests" stimulus with the standard line will retire soon and new people with new ideas will replace them.
