Does anybody have any good suggestions for a good view for a standard studio at BWV? I hear that most of the rooms overlook the front entrance - is it mostly the parking lot or is there some landscaping? Any area better than others? Is there any section of studios with standard view not in the front entrance area? Are they worth requesting? I don't have really high expectations, but if there is one area that is better than others, I would like to try for that.

Just curious for those of you who have requested a specific area how successful you have been in getting what you want.

Thanks for your suggestions!

We requested 3rd or forth floor overlooking the entrance. Specifically, we were looking for a room with a view of illuminations.

We did not get our request and, frankly, I am happy we didn't :)

We ended up with a room at the end of the resort, overlooking the pond. We had a view of ToT to our right. It was a peaceful location and my DSs loved waking up to the quacking of the ducks.

I believe in the future that, other than possibly requesting an upper floor, we won't worry about view and enjoy what we got.

One additional benefit to being at the end of the resort (other than the Looooong walk down the hallway) is that it gives you easy access to the door across from the Bus Stop (useful for MK and AK trips).

Enjoy!

Even the SV rooms that overlook the front entrance have a substantial amount of landscaping between the building and the driveway. The self-park lot is a long way off, across from the bus stop. The valet lot is also quite a ways down the drive, across from the far end of the building. The pond mentioned by the previous poster is between the building and the valet lot.

Overall, the views from the SV rooms at BWV all seem to be pretty good.

BWV has very few rooms that have a bad view including the standard view villas. Our favorite standard view villas are also by the pond and the tennis courts. These rooms are the fartherest from the elevators but the walk(tops 4 mins if you walk slow) is well worth it for the villa view you get. Also these rooms are very close to back staircases if you want to skip the elevator and use your own steam to get up to your villa.

We stayed there a few years back in a SV villa, and it was quite nice!!!!! We had a view of the front door and the portico/overhang thing, and it was very interesting to watch the comings and goings, plus it was quite pretty at night with all the lights lit up.

I know view is important to some folks at WDW, especially if you spend a fair amount of time in the room (with small children requiring naps or for health reasons, for example) but I have never had what I would consider a terrible view ever. I've had some that were better than others, but all have been interesting or pretty in some way.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk.pdf Asking for a specific room and getting it are slim but this may help you know if the room assigned at check-in will meet your needs. This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. Also remember, one persons bad view is another persons good view.
