View is everything for us....what hotel?

Thanks so much everyone for all your replies. I had originally thought that I couldn't afford PPH but after reading everyone's responses, I think I might give it a try. Showed DS the pictures of the view and he was very excited. Now I have to pick the dates when to go!!

That's great! I'm glad the photos (from the PPH thread) helped! That view of DCA from the PPH is hard to ignore. I always say that when I am in the room I can't resist running over to the window to look out at DCA -- even if I just came from DCA! I can hear the screams from California Screamin' and Mickey's Fun Wheel. I can see people milling about in the Paradise Pier area. Last December I watched the Viva Navidad performers and the giant Santa Claus moving through the backstage walkway to and from their performance location, and the Viva Navidad music was very prominent too.

Plus, you'll get the benefit of seeing the gorgeous tree in the PPH lobby every day -- the color and lights are stunning in person. I am hoping that the tree won't be so 'cluttered' this coming holiday season but, even if it is, the color is still fantastic.

I checked out the prices for the PPH....WOW!!! Way out of our price range, but I will keep checking, we still have plenty of time, maybe the prices will go down?? I can dream, right?

I did however book us for Hilton Anaheim with a Disney View for a good price. Thanks again everyone for all your help and advice.

I would expect that there will be some sort of Disney hotel "fall discount" released in several months -- after the summer season at Disneyland is over. There was no special fall discount at all in 2012, but last year Disney was back on track with it. Depending on how much the discount is -- sometimes it could be 15%, 20%, 25% or 30% -- it can bring the price of the hotel down quite a bit, but there are often different discounts for AP holders than what is available for the general public so they are not all the same. In any case, the fall discounts usually cover certain less busy days/weeks in October, November and the first half of December.

In the meantime, though, just in case there is no Disney hotel discount or in case the savings are not substantial, I'm glad you got the Hilton booked! I think that was a good idea.

Hotel Menage. If you have a pool view, you will have a firework view. The fireworks go off right above you (practically).
