Hello,

I am looking for someone for my son (10th grade) to interview.
I am 47 and don't remember much about Vietnam, my older siblings might remember, but not one of them has contacted me yet.

This is a project for his History class and he has to ask a few questions.
He would also need an email address so the teacher can confirm that he has talked to you. (or emailed you)

Is there anyone here willing to help us out?

Thanks!
Lisa

My father is out of town until May 5th - but I know he would be glad to help. If you don't find someone before then, feel free to PM me.

He was Army Airborne 5th Special Forces, SOG and did three tours in the mid to late 60s.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, he will need to contact someone before that. I am a bit upset that my brother has not contacted me yet.
We have had an email out to him for over a week. Oh well!
Just keep moving forward!
Thanks again
Lisa

I lived through Vietnam. I was in college at the time. I knew a lot of students who were very nervous about keeping their grades up so they wouldn't get drafted.

I have a good friend who served in Vietnam. He was an Army Ranger. I do remember some of the stories he told me, but he would never speak about the really bad things he saw.

Let me know if I can help.

Do you have an American Legion Hall or a VFW? I am sure there would be someone who could talk to him.

Call your local VFW Veterans of Foreign Wars or American Legion. Let them know what you are wanting and I'm sure they can find a local veteran of the war to help you out.

My husband is a Viet Nam vet. If you stll need some one, I'm sure he'd be glad to help.

My father's mother was a CIA photo analyst and my father actually went to the American Community High School in Saigon. He was there when they had to evacuate prior to the fall of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City.) I bet he would be willing, and it would be a different perspective from one you normally hear.

His two brothers ended up serving in the war and he had to move back to the states and live with an aunt while his mother continued to work in Vietnam. (his father was dead).
