VIDEO--Inside Starbucks on Main Street

I think that I see scones!

Thanks for posting the link. This place looks really nice.

~This is exactly what I thought! I knew I interpreted the initial announcement correctly. This is nothing like the set up at DCA. I don't care who Disney embraces as a sponsor, but let's call a spade a spade. ;)

I go to Starbucks regularly and I've never seen one that looks like that. I see it as a mixture of the old bakery and Starbucks.

I could be getting the wrong perspective, but I think it looks like they can handle more guests at a time than the previous layout. Which is awesome, the wait in there was always terrible. I need to get a better look at the pastries, I wasn't wowed by what I see in the video, but I feel that good coffee in MK makes up for it.

Can't wait to see the Starbucks in Epcot, I hope it's themed to fit the area as this one was. And dare I hope for Starbucks in DHS and AK eventually?

I have to say, while it blends well with Main Street, it is very obviously a Starbucks. The menu, from what I could see, is very much Starbucks fair. I'm not necessarily against that, but, it is what it is--Starbucks. I will miss the Bakery menu items, but I love that bacon-Gouda sandwich.

~Hi Planogirl, the place looks great, I won't deny that. But, it's definitely a Starbucks that will offer a couple of Disney cupcakes and brownies only after 11 AM. Not a big deal for me, I just wish Disney would have been clear, upfront and truthful about it -- they just wanted to shut the public up, lol. :rotfl: :goodvibes

The inside blends well with the rest of Main Street, it really does look pretty. It's still just a glorified Starbucks though. I'm really going to miss the turnovers, cinnamon rolls, and ice cream cookie sandwiches. Thank you for sharing the video, I've been waiting to see it!

I am going to miss the seating inside, as there is little seating outside.

Nice to see the prices. The Grande sized coffee is $.33 more than I pay in Annapolis (I get a discount for bringing my own cup). Not bad for Disney prices in my opinion.

They did a nice job blending Starbucks into Main Street, USA in my opinion.

Yeah I didn't see any seating, but there has to be, right? For me otherwise while I know I am going to enjoy a good strong cup of coffee the place looks to big and...starbucks like. It doesn't fit design wise, or at least it doesn't look like it does on video.

As a NYC resident who actually lives upstairs of a Starbucks and can pass 15 different ones on an average day, I can say that MSB doesn't look like any old regular Starbucks. Yes they have the same drink menu, yes they have some of the same baked goods and pre-packaged goods but the similarities end there. The decor in the MSB is nothing like a traditional Starbucks and it fits perfectly on Main Street.

I honestly think it's a massive improvement from the old bakery. This one has more room and doesn't look as cramped and can probably handle lines much better than the old layout. Yes the new bakery might not carry all the things the old bakery did but it's not like menu changes are not common at all WDW eateries at any given moment. Plus there is no longer a reason to suffer through the sludge that is Nescafe. For that alone I want to send Disney management a thank you fruit basket.:goodvibes

I was under the impression they took out the seating with this refurb. It does look like now there are longer counter areas and it's more like a counter serve set up rather than one line that goes past the bakery items and then orders their drink. (That would take forever!)

::yes:: ITA! We never went into the bakery, but will now.

I won't comment on whether or not I think it's a good thing.. because it's here so I'm going to deal with it.

However.. I saw my Caramel Macchiato on that menu. That helps.;)

I thought it looked nice. The no-seating thing is bizarre, though.

The one at Universal doesn't have any seating either from what I remember. I think that's the idea. A grab and go instead of a counter service location. Let's face it.. I have never, not one single time, been able to get a table to eat my food in the old Main Street Bakery. We'd have to stand there and wait forever or take it somewhere else. Sure some people can and did .. but it wasn't a particularly effective system during busy times. This is good to hold people while they are waiting for their drinks or food, and move them along. It probably serves larger crowds better that way.

The Universal location has a small amount of seating but only 3 or 4 small tables. The one in Citywalk is pretty much like a regular Starbucks.

I also like having a longer line.

Yeah, I remember only one time we actually got seats. :headache:
