i am currently editing my first vacation video from my gopro and there is alot of content like shows (Festival of the Lion King), rides eg Seven Dwarfs and just some walking round the parks media, what's your advice on trimming it down to a more engaging movie using music compared to a boring long snorefest?

- Use the music to set the pace of the movie.
- Use slow motion and speeded up sections, especially relating to the music.

I agree, the music will almost subconsciously set the mood! I've also noticed in pro videos (scuba vids specifically) any given scene is on screen for just a short time, say, 5-8 seconds, sometimes shorter in a fast paced video, before moving on to the next scenes. I've also learned that the transitions, scene to scene, can be distracting. I now make them short and subtle unless they are used to make a point. I might like to watch a segment for a longer time because I though it was neat or a nice memory but, I think short scenes keep an audience watching for what's next and allow the the vid to cover a lot of ground in a shorter period of time.
