Video Camera Question

Has anyone purchased Sony's new DVD video camera? If so how do you like it and how does it compare to what you have previously owned?

Just prior to our April trip to Disney, we decided to purchase a digital video camera and went with the Sony DCR-TRV22, mini DV. (We wanted to go with a digital video camera so we could edit our vacation footage)

I did my homework on the web and found many good reviews for this video camera.

The size of the camera fits great with one hand and gives a great picture. Many of the camera features are found on the touch LCD screen. This took a little getting used to navigating with the LCD screen. The LCD screen is hard to see sometimes in direct bright light but I still have the viewfinder.

Prior to our Sony, we owned a Panasonic VHS-C. It was OK but does not compare to what we have now. Again, the Panasonic was 6-7 years old when it was replaced.

I know I paid a little more for the Sony name but I am very happy with its quality.

I know it will be awhile before the family and I return to DW, but for now we enjoy watching our vacation videos frequently.
