Victoria Sponge Icing Competition

Every year my firm participates in a two-week charity drive called Food Frenzy. Proceeds benefit Northwest Harvest and other organizations that provide food for homeless or otherwise needy people. We do all kinds of things to raise money, from used a book sale to a silent auction. (This is all strictly within the firm ... we don't solicit money from outside.) This year, we've decided we need some new events to spice things up a bit. I did a Google search for "corporate fundraising ideas" and came up with a UK site with an alphabetical list of ideas, one of which was Victoria Sponge Icing Competition.

Can anyone explain what exactly this might entail, and how it could be used to raise money? What I'm envisioning is a couple of participants having to frost and decorate a cake while blindfolded. Amusing as that could potentially be, I'm not really sure how to turn that into a money-maker.

I like the sound of your idea I don't know what it could be?? Perhaps doing different cakes like teddy bear shape/train shape?? I haven't got a clue???? I suppose you could charge people to enter to raise money??

If you do blindfold them, how about making them wear gloves when they do it too LOL.......maybe I am getting carried away now
