I really wanted to do V&A the night after our wedding for dinner. Then I looked at the prices :scared1: $125pp or $185pp with wine pairings before tax and tip! WOW! That means most likely over $400 for dinner. For those who have done it was it worth it? I don't know if I can justify spending that much money on one meal. I think it might be better to use the money for something else for the wedding. Only thing is I know if we don't do it for our wedding, we will prly never do it and I would like to go there once. $400 on dinner just sounds crazy to me though.

We ate there on our honeymoon. It IS expensive, but no other dinner compares to it IMHO. It is a wonderful experience that we plan on repeating sometime in the future.

I highly recommend V&A: not only is the food incredible, the atmosphere, the service, and the attention to detail make for such a unique and special dining experience. In fact, we love it so much we are buying it out for our wedding reception! :goodvibes

V&A has also just announced 'Queen Victoria's Room' priced at $200 per person (+$95 wine pairing), where you enjoy a ten course meal in a room with only three other tables for a leisurely 3 to 4 hour meal. I am eager to try this 'new top dining experience...attached to the existing top experience', as when I went for my planning session at V&A they seemed very proud of it; a lot of time and research seemed to have been put into making the already astounding V&A experience even more amazing.

But that is really expensive for one meal! To ensure we can afford fitting V&A into most of our trips, DF and I get a room with a fridge so that we can buy milk and cereal, which saves us from spending lots of money on breakfast every day. Hopefully you can think of a substitution that will help you in making this experience part of your honeymoon; if not, there are plenty of other amazing dining spots that I'm sure you will find to be just as nice. ie. the California Grill is really good!

Oh, and congrats! Enjoy your planning :)

We used the money from our honeymoon registry to go. It really was amazing and unlike any other restaurant we've been to. We didn't do the wine pairings (not wine people and it seemed like overkill). There's so much food anyway. Their menu is seasonal, so it's hard to know what they'll have then, but everything on the menu we got looked delicious. I even drank their coffee and I really don't like coffee! It was nice to have one nice, quiet dinner with just the two of us. No screaming children a few tables over. They even set up the reservations so the people in your dining area (10 or so tables) eat at about the same time so there's even fewer interruptions. And escort you to the bathroom (that threw me). It's a lot less stressful than a equally expensive restaurant in a big city where you're expected to know what you're ordering. They seem to have stories about most of the food; "Oh, the chef recently went to Spain, etc, so he decided to try Bison in their style despite it being wrongly considered a lesser meat..." As my husband said, he would never normally consider dropping that much on food, but it was completely worth it! I will now take a moment to drool over the memory of black truffle bread.....

We are also doing V&As for our reception (though on a much smaller scale than Nitsa ;)) We have not been before but in looking at restaurant choices for the dinner we were most excited about V&As luckily my parents are helping us out with the wedding and we agreed it was in the budget (whew!)

I can not wait to go there for our honeymoon. I'm a BIG foodie and I am booking the chef's table. I know it's a LOT of money but I'd rather save money before or after. I just really want to eat there.

I have eaten in the main dining room and we had our reception on the fireplace room and it was amazing each tiime. I love it. I think it a phenomenal food and a fantastic experience. I am a foodie and have traveled quite a bit and I really think the food and experience is definitley up there.

I went with my DF family and had a great time. I think his parents have gone 3 time and DF 2 times. It was a good excuse to dress up at Disney and his parents paid. It seemed like a lot of wine is served so if you do not drink that much you might not want to get the wine pairing. I do not know if they still have that same coffee dispenser but it was cool to watch them make it at the table. There was also a couple next to us and he popped the question there. He secretly gave us his camera and we took pictures of the event. I still have my menu with my name on it.
His parents asked if we wanted to see Cirque du Soleil or eat at V&A and we picked Cirque du Soleil.

Thanks for the advice, I'm really torn whether or not we should do it. I have a long time to decide though. I guess I will wait and see how close we are to our budget and then decide. If we don't do the wine pairings that would make it cheaper. Does anyone know the approx. cost of a glass of wine there? Maybe just getting one glass each and the meal would be a better bet.

Victoria and Albert's is not a "we'll budget for it "restaurant. It is an all-out splurge and should be enjoyed as such.If you really feel it is not in the budget, and you're not sure if you would enjoy the many courses, perhaps Jiko or California Grill would be a better fit. You'd like to have fun,and worrying about the cost of the meal won't add to your enjoyment.

I just booked our reservation for our wedding night. We are having an early ceremony and lunch reception so I figured a nice splurge meal for the two of us would be perfect at around 9pm. It's a surprise for my DFi, he loves a good meal!
