My fabulous husband surprised me on Valentine's Day with a visit to the Chef's Table during our August visit!! I have to make the reservations, but just that he is letting us go...fabulous!! :cloud9:

I have a couple of questions:
1. Does one pay when making the reservation?
2. It says that Chef's Table is a 180 day reservation. I know that it is possible to make other reservations for more than 180 days, if the hotel reservation starts sooner than the day of the restaurant reservation. When I called for reservations, I was able to make the rest of our reservations more than 180 days out, but was told by the "special V & A line" that the Chef's Table is exactly 180 days, regardless of hotel reservation. Does anyone know if this is accurate - should I be trying again???

Thanks - I would also love any impressions or suggestions for our very special dinner...

1) You have to secure the reservation with a credit card but you don't pay in advance.

2) You cannot make CT reservations more than exactly 180 days from the date you want.

3) Only one CT reservation is taken for any given date on the calendar - be sure you're calling WDW Dining at exactly 7AM EST when the phones open or you will most likely not get the reservation.

4) There is a CT review in my signature: The Food Was Not Undelicious from May 2007. The first post in the thread will let you know which pages the reviews and pics are on. It's a little unorganized but it does the trick. You can also look for reviews from Mister Disney, Swankybeth, and Princess Aurora - they're all very good and very informative.

Good luck! :goodvibes

I agree. They only have one reservation per day, no matter the size of the party.

And here may be the most interest review of the CT ever.

I read both reviews, and loved every word. However, I now have another question!!

I did not realize that there was only one reservation a night - I thought we would sit with others. So, how does the cost work?? Do we pay for eight, or just for two?

Now I am so nervous about getting the reservation! I am wondering if I should try other nights... of course, we wanted to go on our last night, but that would certainly be putting too much trust in fate...

Yikes!! Only a few days left til I call, unless I try for an earlier date...

The price is per person, regardless of your party size. When we ate at the Chef's Table I think the dinner was $165 per person and then an additional $70 per person for the wine pairings with dinner. Those prices don't include tax or gratuity.

It's expensive but worth every penny. :thumbsup2

From my experience you must be up and trying every morning that corresponds with an evening of your planned vacation. Last time I secured the reservation it took 15 tries -- and DH and I changed the dates of our vacation once we finally secured a reservation.

When we were trying to get an equally difficult reservation (breathless illuminations cruise) DH called the morning before as a "trial" he memorized the prompts so he could get through immediately. You might try to get two phone lines going, because you can get put on hold. Don't fret if you don't get the first day, you will be able to keep trying.

Good luck, I am super jealous!
