We're going to Disney in January and I'm really curious about Victoria & Albert. I'm going to assume for the moment that we're not on any dining plan, since I don't know what the plan will look like in 2009.

We love good food, and don't mind paying top dollar for it - we have a local restaurant around here where we can easily spend $75/person, and that's OK because it's wonderful, created by very talented chefs. But if all I'm paying for is the ambience, I'd rather pass.

Any advice? Thanks so much!

We love V&A's. Now I didn't think the dining plan included V&A's anyway, but hey, maybe they made changes. If you opt for the wine pairings, I believe that makes your per person price $185. For us, it is well worth it. Many new and exciting dishes you just will not find anywhere on property or for that matter, many places back home (at least by us). We thoroughly enjoy the experience and by the time the last course comes we are stuffed. We try and go every other trip. The service and food are impeccable IMO and we really enjoy their fresh brewed coffee (maybe because good coffee is so hard to find on property).

Just did this resturant back in April we were on the Platimun Plan. I am not a fancy eater. My husband on the other hand tries anything. We both absoutley loved it. I would say it's a must do resturant at least one time. Great experience.

I agree with the PP -- it was a very nice experience the one time that we did it. It was even worth the expense and the bother of bringing a coat and tie. It is, however, one that we won't likely repeat soon. We like our Disney vacations casual.

We eat at V&A on every trip there. It is ranked as one of the top restaurants in the country. Men must wear jackets, the meal will take every bit of 2 hours. You will receive 6 courses: amuse bouche, cold appetizer, hot appetizer, fish course, meat course, intermezzo, and dessert. The cost is $125 minimum. If you upgrade any of the courses or do the wine pairings (which are always excellent), you will spend much more.

We travel a great deal and I've only ever eaten at one other place that compares to V&A. The restaurant is nice but not particularly impressive. The food and service are top notch. We have gone as a group of 8 (taking our adult children/spouses) and we have gone just the 2 of us and either way, it's been an excellent way to spend the evening.

I love V&A! We go every trip and make a day out of it -spa morning and this for the evening (very romantic). It is not included in the meal plan (although I don't know about the Platinum plan) so expect it to be OOP no matter what you choose in that regard. We always add a few extras and spend around 400 for 2 of us, but its worth it IMO.

You should try it at least once!

Thank you all. I've just booked our reservation there. :dance3:

One thing that threw me, though - they wanted the names of all the party members, as the menus are embossed! My d's invited a couple of her friends, but we don't know who's coming yet, so I couldn't tell them! :scared1: Luckily, the CM told me I could call back later with the names.

That is cool...I have not seen the embossed menus yet. In the past we just got our menus with our names written on them in gold ink.
