Via Napoli was different

Bumping this thread to see if anyone has had pizza with pepperoni recently. We went to VN in February and, like the original poster, had pizza with larger, flat pepperoni instead of the cup and char pepperoni that was the norm for many years. Just wondering if the flat pieces are now used all the time, or if perhaps for a time VN just couldn’t get the other type of pepperoni.

I'm also interested in the current preparation of the pepperoni pizza. This makes me sad to read the earlier comments as this was one of our favorite things to eat while at WDW. Thanks to anyone who can give a more recent report.

Are they cooking premade frozen pizzas?

No, that’s probably the pizzeria with the outdoor window on Boardwalk.

Wasn’t hungry for pizza during my July trip but my traveling companion was. She never had Disney pizza before but thought it tasted fine.

I ended up going with someone, so we got the large Quattro Formaggi pizza, and it was delicious! I felt that everything was cooked through, and I definitely enjoyed this visit much more than my last.

We had the cupped pepperoni on April 15th as part of the Meatlovers pizza (1/2 with 1/2 Quatto Formaggi)

Love Via Napoli, but recently went and it was off. First, the cupped pepperoni's that we had always loved had been changed to a little larger and flat pepperoni. In our families opinion they were not as flavorful.There was also very little sauce. It was still good but not to the standard we expected. Don't know if this was a temporary supply issue substitute and/or wondering if someone else noticed or had some input. Thanks

We ate here in 2017 & thoroughly enjoyed it, fast forward to November 2022 & the experience & food didnt seem as good as we remembered it. On both occasions we had the quattro fromagie. From memory the first experience the cheeses were flavourful & loved the long strings of cheese as you picked up the slices. Our second experience the cheeses didn't seem so flavoursome. But last Xmas our family dined there & said they had an amazing experience.
I suppose it depends on the day the quality of the produce could be off or spot on.
We will though try it again in the future as all places can have the odd off day!
