Via Napoli vs Tutto Italia

We are trying to decide between the two as well for our upcoming July trip. We currently have reservations for Tutto and considering switching. My question is in regards to the dining plan.. As a family of 5, if we order a pizza what happens to our meal credits? Does that mean we will have to use 5 credits? It seems like it would not be a good use of dining credits and should go to Via when paying out of pocket.

We've been to both many times, and to Tutto Gusto and to Il Mulino at the Swan. For food alone, I prefer Il Mulino at the Swan. And for atmosphere if we were traveling with just adults, Il Mulino at the Swan again. But unless I'm going to a conference, I'm traveling with our kids. And they would choose Via - great pizza (even for our son who doesn't usually like pizza) and really excellent, fresh eggplant parm. They think (and I'd agree) that Tutto Italia tries too hard to be formal and that the food is fine but not great. Via's high ceilings, large windows and hardwood floors are more our style. I also really love Tutto Gusto - the wine bar. In our experience, they have always offered a kids' menu, the lounge menu (including small plates - yay!) and the opportunity to order from the Tutto Italia menu.

We have eaten at both - though Via Napoli with more frequency. It is a fun restaurant, very child friendly, loud and entertaining. But, I still think Tutto Gusto is the best spot in Italy. It isn't on the Dining Plan (unless that changed). But worth the out of pocket expense, in my opinion. Wine flights, sandwiches, cheese plates, and you can order from Tutto Italia (which I have done several times) without the stuffier atmosphere. It's in my Top Three of all Disney Dining!

We went to Via Napoli last year and I thought it was the worst meal I have had at WDW. The pizza was ok at best and the service was nothing great either. This was the one place I was looking forward to after hearing so many people say how good it was. I was very let down on this one and doubt I would go back. I was going to book tutto for this trip but since we are staying at BWV I decided on Trattoria instead since it is right at our resort.
