We have the best pizza in NJ (I'm biased). I'm hearing good things about the pizza at via Napoli. I'd like to try it but wondering if I'm setting myself up. Anyone else who loves nj/ny pizza try via Napoli and liked it?

I have eaten at Via Napoli 4 times in the past 3 trips. I LOVE it.. however, I have yet to try the pizza.. which I am going to do this trip. Via Napoli's pizza is polarizing.. people either love it or hate it.

Having seen the pizza, I can tell you that it's is not like American pizza.. in any of our forms. It is a very thin crust, which can turn people off. I am very much looking forward to trying it in October. Since I have enjoyed everything I have had there, I am not concerned about not liking the pizza. (And I am a born/bred NY-er.)

NO.

NO.

wicked NO.

New England Yank here and die hard NY/NJ/East Coast pizza lover.

wait'll you get home, order while unpacking, and have a Mickey treat you brought back for dessert.

I have heard good things about it but being I spent many years making and running pizza shops i'm a little judgmental on quality, but I would still try it just to say I did and find out how it is.

This South Jersey group was hesitant but gave it a shot in February - NO! Can get better pizza at home. We will try one more time for the pasta before all hope is lost, but as for pizza I should have followed my instincts which were NO! Fuggedaboudit!
I ordered pizza for everyone in the office when I got back - yum!

No!!! Don't bother.

I live in CT. 20 min from the famous Wooster Street. Via Napoli was a HUGE disappointment and we are not picky eaters. It is one of two restaurants we will never eat in again. Not only was the pizza not edible, the atmosphere was SO LOUD. I'm a teacher and I understand loud but it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation at our table.

Well, depends on if you are expecting authentic NJ pizza or authentic Neapolitan pizza. We have been to southern Italy several times, this is how they do it there. I would say adjust your expectations and try it. We love it.

I think it's far better than any place I've eaten pizza at in NY NJ. I've had better pizza in Pittsburgh actually than NY NJ. I would say give it a try, why not.

What makes a NJ pizza better than other pizzas? I would love to know as we always make our own pizzas at home Calzone, deep pan, stuffed crust, Stromboli etc

Growing up in Point Pleasant NJ and Long Island..Not near the same..More like a Pizza from Carabas or something..Its ok but nothing special..But good for a quick lunch ,But I wouldn't do it expecting a nice dinner..

Puh-leaze!

Long Islander here and both DH and I loved it. It isn't Long Island/NY/NJ pizza. Isn't Domino's/Pizza Hut/Papa John's (blech) either. It's pizza from Naples (Neopolitan?) and it was delicious.

In a word: NO. I get the Wednesday special $8.99 for a large pizza at TJ's here in my town and it's 100x better than anything Disney has.

This! I lived in Manhattan and I don't think you can compare the two. They're both special in their own way, it just depends on what you prefer. I had the Carciofi, which has artichokes and truffle oil, it was incredible!

We are from Jersey and live for pizza. We love Via Napoli. I think that we are such die hard pizza lovers that we appreciate all types of pizza. Via Napoli is not NJ/NY type pizza and we didn't expect it to be.

I like it and I'm a New Yorker, born & breed.

Is it the same as NY/NJ pizza no and it isn't suppose to be. Much thiner crust then our pizza at home and you get that smokey/charred flavor from the oven. If I had to compare to something at home the closest would be John's Pizza type in NYC. I would say try for yourself and you might be surprised and enjoy it.;)

Nope. It definitely does not live up to the pizza or Italian food we are used to here in the NJ/NY area.

In a word NO I am born and raised in North Jersey, and while Via Napoli is the best option for pizza in WDW it is by no means close to what I get at home.

It is not supposed to be "pizzeria" pizza it is neopolitan (sp?)

I have been to Italy and this is how the pizza is. If you have ever had pizza at Eatly in NYC it is similar.

If u want dominoes, or corner store pizza this is not for you. Me, I would take this style over "new world" pizza any day.

Also, I live in nj. Pizza is a very subjective thing. You need to try it yourself. I remember Richard Christie on the stern show say he prefers papa johns. And he lives in manhattan.

I love NY pizza (DH's family is from the Bronx), but I also love Via Napoli pizza.

It's not supposed to be NY pizza. It's Italian pizza (I've also been to Italy). Not sure why NY/NJ people get so wrapped around whether it tastes like what they get at home. Why would you want it to? It's an Italian restaurant, so enjoy it for what it is. What it is, is pizza cooked like they used to years ago in NY when they had coal pizza ovens. NY pizza now is not exactly what it was when it was first introduced to NY.

We are NY pizza eaters and we love VN. The 4 cheese pizza is our favorite. As others have said it is not supposed to taster like NY/NJ pizza. It is supposed to be like pizza you would get in Italy.
