VH Glitch??

See when the computer glitch didnt put our car insurance on we had to ring Virgin up! they said that was a glitch and they wouldnt honour our insurance,DP rang twice! in the end we went to CAB who told us to write to Virgin which we did and it got honoured. That was a computer glitch also.
So.....we might not have a leg to stand on but you never know!

You are right, legally they are no doubt covered but for good will to keep customers there is always a chance if you push.

Your Holiday Contract
“……..A contract will exist as soon as we issue our confirmation invoice. ………
……….All brochure/website descriptions are made in good faith and every care is taken to ensure their accuracy. However, in view of the detail contained therein and the fact that brochures/websites are necessarily prepared/created some time in advance of distribution and of the Holidays, advertised facilities, amenities, entertainment and schedules may, on occasion, be restricted, curtailed, changed or cancelled.
Therefore, changes may be made to the particulars you have seen at any time before the contract with you is made. In these circumstances, we will notify you of such changes prior to confirmation of your booking. If you have already booked, where possible, we will notify you as soon as we are aware, if there is time before you travel.

They rang me on Saturday morning to say the price was wrong and if I wanted to take it it would be £2400. Needless to say I declined. I really want to do NYC and Orlando anyway so no loss and I will book something later on :)

Hi Beth
Tried to PM you but cant get it to work. not sure why

They just kept saying that there were only 2 options so I gave in and said I'd let them know. I don't think there's much chance but I still haven't actually let them know one way or the other. The only info I could get was that there were only 5 bookings affected. I was thinking of letting them get in touch with me but am a bit worried that in the terms and conditions I think I read that you only have 7 days to back out before losing the deposit. DH thinks I should cancel quick.

The martins money forum that I posted on seems to think that most websites have the terms and conditions in place to allow them to not honour any pricing errors. A few years ago things would have been different as a contract was made as soon as the deposit was paid. Now however it seems that the contract is not confirmed untill its agreed in writing (not on the website).
