VGF1 or VGF2 if both were available

My choice deluxe studio, but would like to try the resort studio sometime in the future!

Deluxe studio for me. I'm always solo when in a studio, so the two beds don't interest me. But I love to buy yogurt for breakfast the night beforehand, keep it in the fridge and have it for breakfast. So that kitchenette with the fridge is a "must have".

We kept our original deluxe studio reservations for December. We do either a 1 bedroom or a studio. The bathroom set up really helped us make that decision.

Edit: I was trying to quote another user but I messed it up. This is in regards to the Nespresso machine eventually returning to the GF1 lobby.

I would be surprised if it returns. One thing we have learned is that Covid has been a great excuse for businesses to remove gratis offerings to reduce costs with a handy excuse that they cannot be blamed for…

I am going to stay in both and then decide.

I have September booked in the new Resort Studios and then November booked in a Deluxe Studio and hopefully the refurbishment will be finished by then. I have only stayed in a one bedroom so far, and that was great but eats up a lot of points.

I'm guessing I will like both of them for different reasons. I noticed on our last trip I did not use the microwave at all but did use the refrigerator. I like the idea of the Big Pine Key building being closer to the main building and next to a pool. Even if I end up having a preference between the two, I will be happy staying at either.

Well, I have been inclined to agree with this in the past year.

But, I was just at Hilton Head and they have restarted coffee 6-10 and 2-6, using a Keurig machine, plus wrapped cups and lids, with tiny wrapped Biscoff cookies for snacks in the afternoon.

Used to be big coffee container in the morning and cookies and lemonade or apple cider in the afternoon.

At least something is back.

I'm so glad to hear this! I miss the cranberry nut cookies they used to serve, though, but let's hope for the apple cider when we go in November again.

We have toured both, but would only stay in the VGF 1. The lack of room amenities in VGF 2 wouldn't work for us.

Did they replace all the sofa beds with the new Murphy pull downs in the deluxe studios? If not that would depend on my travel party.

Hey everyone. I’ve read through many of the threads and I can seem to get a handle on if people will prefer the original studios or the new resort studios.
We travel with just 2 adults so the extra bed in the middle of the room would just be taking up space. We also really like having the kitchenette. We would hands down pick the original studio.

If both types of studios were available at your 7 month mark in your preferred category, which one would you pick?

I will likely choose one studio type over the other based on my trip plans. I like the new studio for a brief trip, such as a weekend of Run Disney or for a parks heavy trip. The two real beds will be nice for my kids. For longer trips, I’m more inclined to look at options with the kitchenette or better as there will be more time at the resort and some in room eating. I think both studio options are nice, but the choice is really dependent on what I’m planning to do.

I think that the new studios add another good room category option to VGF and give more flexibility to the DVC choices there - though I realize some have speculated that there will be less flexibility with the influx of more points into the association. Time will tell more regarding how easy the various studio types and other room options are to book.

arent the murphy beds the same as a queen and not the thin sofa couch mattresses? so the extra bed in the new section is really not a bonus anymore.

Yes, it's an actual mattress and I think the same that the 2 beds are not that much of a distinction anymore. 5-10 years ago? Absolutely. Actually I'd say the 2 real queen beds are less as they have to be down for everyone no matter if you are a single in the room or a group of 5. Still think a King bed plus a double or queen murphy sofa would have been the winner.

VGF1 Deluxe Studios for us. Love the 2 shower setup in the bathroom and the quick access to parking. Also, very convenient for laundry in the original building. When we were on our tour week before last in the new studios, the guide told us she didn't think that BPK would have a laundry setup (though I can't imagine them not having one...)

I would be happy with either, but would prefer VGF1

Resort studios for the real bed and proximity to the amenities of the resort. When we stay in a studio we rarely use the microwave anyway.

There both real beds. But the proximity is def a bonus.
