If they plan to stay at WDW, I wouldn't advise them to buy Aulani unless they want to spend a lot of time in Hawaii. Polynesian only has studios and bungalows (that require a lot of points). They may be better off buying resale.

We own at VGF and find that we also GREATLY like the style of BWV (similar to VGF we think). DVC will tell you it is not for sale...but it is if you push them. It is by no means VGF, but after the refurb, it is very nice.

If they won't do resale, their options will be Poly, Aulani, AKV, BWV, OKW, SSR, WLV, and BLT if you push them...

I was thinking the same thing
Resale is I guess the way to go since they dont want anything else than grand floridian

Also its quite impossible I guess to buy elsewhere and get into VGF at 7 month window ?
For having tried ounce and even I ( owner there ) didnt have all my days
I guess they are better at resale and buy what they really want
Thanks

VGF is the smallest DVC resort at WDW, even smaller than VWL.

Really? I wouldn't consider BWV and VGF being anything alike. BWV, BCV, VWL and SSR, yes. But not VGF.

I would go resale. We own at VGF and we were shut out at 7 months for anything over a night Oct through Nov. (We bought in April). So we now book all of our trips there at 8am exactly at 11 months.

I love that it is smaller ( intimacy )
But if they buy elsewhere in the hopes of going on vacation at grand floridian they will probably not get in or have all the days of theyre stay available
I guess I will have to coach them in resale

The ming wise on the interior of the hotel I guess. To each their own. I find BCV, BWV, and SSR to be nothing alike. I also find VWL to be different than all 3 of those.

I wouldn't count on that at all. If VGF is absolutely where they must stay then I'd buy resale there. But what about VGF made them want to have it? Have they seen several of the other resorts?

Maybe some of the decorations, but the room layout is totally different. That's what I think when I consider villas to be similar. BCV. BWV. SSR and VWL are nearly identical except for minor differences in layout.

If they have to have VGF, I think the only option is resale. I have read on these boards that, with few exceptions, Disney is not selling VGF direct anymore (glad we got it when we did last October!).

I can also tell you that it is difficult to make reservations for VGF at seven months or less, so buying elsewhere with the hopes of staying there may lead to disappointment, which is not worth it when making a purchase of this magnitude.

I wish your friends the best of luck finding that perfect DVC purchase!

I was going by style and decorations, not layout of the room or resort.
