Vgf studio 11 months December with new building

With the new vgf building opening next year do you all think it will be possible to actually book a studio Christmas week at 11 months? Or will this new building not help?

When done, there will be 200 more studios, meaning the total available will increase from 47 to 247. That will mean that, once all are available, there likely will not be an issue of all studios filling right at 11-months out absent some unusual event (like the October 1, 2021 beginning of the 50th).

However, that leaves open the issue of how many will actually be available for Christmas time in 2022 and possibly 2023 at 11 months out, which could be a much lower number than the 200 total additional. And thus, there is some possibility that the rooms could fill at 11-months out for Christmas week during those years, although more could open up at less than 11-months out.

The real, longer-term, issue will be availability for categories of studios at 11-months out. The new studios may have higher nightly point costs than the existing studios -- a real possibility since the the rooms being converted are larger than the existing VGF studios. If that occurs, the 47 existing studios could develop an 11-month issue for many times of the year.

Realistically, most Studios are difficult to book for December, even at the larger DVC resorts.

For example, even after the 200-room conversion, PVB will still have 100 more Studios than VGF.

PVB has never been easy to book for early December, but Christmas week has been more available at 11 months than the first 2 weeks of December.

My prediction - VGF will go from hardest studio to book to being as hard as BWV currently is to book a studio, maybe a little easier since BWV loses available studios when people take studios out of inventory by booking lock off 2 br.s - list of available studios per resort ranked from least to most:
1. VGF 47 (0 dedicated/47 lock off)
2. BRV 65 (20 dedicated/45 lock off)
3. CCV 78 (42 dedicated/36 lock off)
4. BCV 110 (36 dedicated/74 lock off)
5. BLT 133 (0 dedicated/133 lock off)
6. Riviera 210 (24 tower/38 dedicated/148 lock off)
7. OKW 230 (0 dedicated/230 lock off)
8. BWV 246 (97 dedicated/149 lock off)
9. VGF + BPK 247 (200 dedicated/47 lock off)
10. AKV 296 (46 dedicated/250 lock off)
11. Poly 360 (360 dedicated/0 lock off)
12. SSR 432 (0 dedicated/432 lock off)

Going by the old availability charts looks like you’ll need to own there to book a studio since BWV studios tend to be gone before 7 months in early Dec..

I wonder if anyone has computed the number of points to book all of the studios compared to the total points sold at a given resort. Of course, assumptions will have to be made to account for 2BR lockoffs booked as 2BR.

This is super helpful. Thank you. This makes me feel that VGF might be a good resort to own in a few years for myself. Currently I have been struggling using my points here.
