VGF or BLT - which would you pick?

So our 2018 Sept UY pts are being extended until Nov. 30th and DH agreed last night that we should take a kid-free, 5 night trip to WDW in October!!!

We have 250 pts and what we don't use we'll put in RCI...here are our choices since our dates are flexible..and DH is of the mindset of "use all the points in case we don't use the RCI"....

We are booking a 1-bedroom room at either location.

1. Bay Lake Towers, Theme Park view for 195 pts
2. Bay Lake Towers, Water View for 165 pts
3. Villas @ GF, Water view for 225 pts
4. Villas @ GF, Standard view for 180 pts

Here's a little background...we have NEVER stayed at BLT or Contemporary but we have stayed at GF but in a regular room, not the Villas but that was in 2016. We will go to the parks for 6 days, 2 MK, 2 HS, 1 AK and 1 Epcot....

Dinners are split - 3 @Disney Springs, Cali Grill and 1 @ HS...

From what I'm hearing there is no monorail to Epcot so either one we take the bus to: AK, HS and Epcot and BLT we can walk to MK or from GF we monorail it...

Thoughts??

Oh, and our departure dates are either: Oct. 5th, Oct 12th or Oct 18th - so when will the NBA be cleared out of the GF?

NBA is soon done with GF if not already. Game tonight will have them down to 8 teams and all will be at Destino Tower. GF is set to open 9/21.

I would do BLT theme park view as that will be nice. But if you want to use the remainder in RCI then the more you have in there the better. So maybe lake view BLT. Though honestly the one time we tried to use RCI we found the options to be crappy. So if you do water view at VGF then you will use most points up.

I chose BLT water view. We own at BLT. I like the lake view rooms best. The extra bathroom and short walk to MK seal the deal for us!

If you want to use up as many points as possible, I would do the GF waterview for sure.

BLT Lake View, Inner Loop, North Tower, Highest Floor. You're not missing any fireworks and you still enjoy all the boat traffic and look down on the inner corridor over the pools...and use the least points.

AND I'm hoping more restaurant options open up before then too.....right now there's just the Gasparillas and GF Cafe for breakfast....

and on the other hand at Contemporary/BLT there is Chef Mickeys, Contempo Cafe and Waves for breakfast....

so many decisions!

I would do VGF, just a heads up if you do lake view. The sun in the morning on the balcony is strong. The shades are great and block almost all the light. I like to eat breakfast out there and the sun was the worst of any resort we have stayed at. In the evening the view was beautiful We were there in Oct of 2019 in a 2 bedroom. DW wants to back.
