We have stayed at both. Bringing family who have never stayed in the villas and haven't been to WDW in over 10 years. We love VGF but love the idea of the club level at AKJambo. Would love to hear what others think about either and why choosing one over the other. We are only going to one or two parks, wherever our cousins decide they wish to visit and we will have a car so location does not matter.

Obviously having a hard time deciding :)

Getting Jambo Club is still very hard. Do you have the ability to walk it?

Would you be booking AKL Club level through DVC? There are only 5 studios and 5 one bedrooms with Club Level, so it's very very hard to book. Just something to keep in mind!

We have the Club level on a waitlist right now. I saw it available this morning but I know the website is having issues and not sure if it is really there, the ability to change is currently not available on the website and DVC is closed. Yes I am aware of the difficulty of getting the AKL club. We own there.

Tomorrow is my 7 month window to try for VGF.

Assuming you have home resort advantage and you don’t plan too much park time, I’d probably try for CL because with a larger group that can be a nice perk.

But, it’s hard to get so you may not end up with an actual choice.

You didn't say how many people or their ages- which would make a difference in which resort I'd recommend.

I Love AKL CL, but we've been going to the parks for 20+ years and don't need to do everything or even anything at the parks anymore. However, newcomers and very infrequent visitors that we travel with far prefer the ease of access of being at a monorail resort so that they can 1)- easily see fireworks at night without a 45 minute drive/parking 2) easily get to the MK first thing in the morning and beat the crowds which makes for a much more pleasant day (Almost everyone picks the MK as their one and only park to visit); and 3) - Monorail. Everyone loves the monorail.

Honestly, people can get hummus and a couple beers just about everywhere- and it isn't why they are traveling to WDW - they are going for "The Magic". The only way I'd recommend AKL over VGF is if your cousins are NOT going to the parks at all.

In this case, for me, it would be VGF! So much has changed in the last 10 years. At the VGF, you can walk and/or monorail to the MK, Poly & Contemporary. Lots of great restaurants to try. And as already mentioned, plenty of non-park locations to view the fireworks.
