VGF Official Announcement?

Has there been any Official Announcement to the membership regarding VGF going on sale and/or booking tomorrow? I have read elsewhere on the internet & these message boards that there was an official press release & announcement but I can find nothing on the Member Website or Disney Website.

It would be nice if they would inform the membership at the same time they alert the press, unofficial bloggers & unofficial website owners if not before.

If you don't post anything on Facebook, you can still see what's there without revealing anything material about yourself.

DVCnews is not an official Disney website. DVC should be posting the information on their own Official DVC Member website for the entire membership to see before notifying or leaking to unofficial sources.

Karrit...I feel the same way. I am not a facebook fan and don't rely on the DVC page there for info. That facebook announcement really did not contain much info....except to say we should expect news on the official DVC member website on Thursday. It is obvious that people leaked documents out. I, too, find it quite annoying that every unofficial disney site seems to have more info than members. Although allearsnet is only posting the official news release as of today. I do hope that the official members website will be updated by 7 am tomorrow. I am expecting lots of website crashes, though......

For the record, DVCnews.com is NOT an offical Disney Vacation Club website.

The VGF info is on the Members' Website this morning - it's fairly extensive, but no detailed info on the rooms that I could find.

DVCnews is not an official Disney website. DVC should be posting the information on their own Official DVC Member website for the entire membership to see before notifying or leaking to unofficial sources.

Welcome to the internet. LOL Things get leaked all the time. I'm sure they didn't want that to happen, but it's kind of inevitable.

They had the announcement on the member website the day before it officially went on sale. They can't control what information leakers and bloggers do.

I'm not really sure why you're so angry.

Well, I agree with the PP. I'm not on facebook and while Disney sends me tons of email from their store site, I rarely get email on DVC announcements. So I'm eternally grateful to DISBOARDS and others for posting this information!

I'm not angry but disappointed with DVD communications.

This is exactly my point. Time & time again I have found out from other sources about new construction, on sale dates, booking info, etc. I routinely receive communications regarding add-ons at current properties yet when it's time for a new one there is zero direct communication from DVC. I still have yet to receive anything from DVC about VGF. As a dues paying member it upsets me that the only way to find out important news is from other sources than DVC. They want to sell so why do I have to do all the work when it comes to new properties?

And as to the poster who said the info was up on the site the day before sales opened, I was checking continuously throughout the day and never found anything. Mind you I have no intention of buying at VGF but as a current member I am continually disappointed in how they handle announcements regarding new properties to existing members. If I'm not informed how do I get a chance to purchase before the general public?
