Does anyone know when the next round of availability will be released for the VGF resort studios? Or did I miss it already?

Kind of odd for. DVC to release 100% of inventory VGF2 for use when only about 26% is sold. That seems to be a problem. DVC is pushing 100% of costs to VGF owners. Maybe more breakage money for them since there will be unfilled rooms. Yet RIV is about 45% sold but about 54% declared. Something seems awful fishy. We all know Disney isn’t doing it to benefit the membership.

wouldn't be shocked by something slightly nefarious, but also if you look out through 12/31, the studios are almost all booked save for some spotty nights. There is a real benefit here of siphoning out the point glut from COVID with existing members which clearly has to be happening to some extent, and that does benefit the membership.

Not saying they deserve a medal (and I acknowledge its a bit odd when compared to RIV), but its not all harm.

When DVC declares inventory, I believe they're on the hook for dues/costs, too.
They "guarantee" the budget, so they are on the hook if collected dues don't cover spending. No dues are being collected on declared, but unsold inventory. This is why they usually only declare enough to keep ahead of sales. They own undeclared rooms and can rent them for cash. Proceeds flow to developer's bottom line.

I see nothing "nefarious" about them declaring more than needed to cover sales, and think they are as anxious as we are to get rid of the "glut" asap. As I said above, I think the declaration is a good thing for the Membership.

So why not declare 100% of RIV too. More inventory for members to use. Get rid of all the excess pandemic points. Or does DVC finally realize that there is studio shortage and they realize that VGF2 helps with the issue and RIV will not. I find it very hard to believe that DVC has been building and selling DVC for 30 years and they still haven’t built a resort with the proper ratio of studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms units. Maybe the Polyday Inn they will figure it out. I’m not holding my breath.

Per the POS, DVD guarantees that the estimated budget for operational costs can't rise that year...ie: what they determined in Dec 2022 can't go up for owners, even if costs ar emore...and will cover any shortfall, in exchange for not paying that part of the MFs. So, there is some level of benefit to DVD to declare points that are not sold. But, since they do cover the shortfall, if any, it wouldn't be free.

But, since this guarantee has never not happened, I'd suggest that DVD makes out in the end.

RIV is pretty popular for cash guests so in no rush to move those rooms to DVC. They make a lot of money off those rooms that way.

The GF was having trouble filling its rooms already so they didn't need to keep them part of the cash stay...adding them to DVC gives owners more rooms...which can continue to help with availability for owners.

IMO, it was due to the fact that it works out better for them to keep RIV rooms as long as they can and didn't care about the BPK rooms.
