VGF less than 4 months out?

We're not DVC members, but I'm contemplating renting DVC our next trip which we're hoping will be sometime in April 2016. That being said, we won't know until about January timeframe if we can even afford that trip. Given that it is such short notice, what are the chances that we'd be able to (hopefully) rent a studio or 1-bedroom villa at GF?

4 months is generally tough with DVC. As a member, I've wound up booking a few trips in that timeframe.... But that was a lot of work taking a few days and wait listing others, while stalking the website for days to pop up.

I'd say forget about the 1st full week in April (Easter is Mar 27). If you are lucky, Later in April might have a shot at a 1BR

Another resort, maybe depending on the resort, VGF not likely.

For a VGF studio which can often disappear 11 months out, you will likely have no chance; for a 1BR at best a small chance that close to the date but you would raise the odds exponentially for a 1BR if you could make the reservation 7 months out.

Many experienced renters probably wouldn't even bother checking availability. Right now--7 months out--most nights are already unavailable for early April.

By the time you're 3.5 months out, it's likely the only availability will be scattered nights here-and-there or a cancellation which happens to have no waitlist match.

DVC point renting and short notice reservations typically don't go hand-in-hand.

That's what I thought, but I thought I'd ask just in case

It looks like I can probably look into renting VGF for our late October 2016 trip since January will be just around the 11 month mark. Hopefully one day we'll own DVC .

Right now there is a bunch of rooms open at GF for April, If you can find someone to book the resort now it might be worth it.

I would say it depends on how many nights you want. You may be able to piece together 2 or 3 nights with some work and waitlisting. If you're looking for a week, then no probably won't happen.
