VGF Incentives

We are considering a small VGF add on. Are there any incentives currently? Any anticipated in the near future? Also, is there a minimum number of points we would have to buy? I am excited at the possibility of adding on, but I think DH will be a hard sell.

Currently, no incentives for VGF. Price is a flat $150/point for all purchases (new or add-on).

Since you are already a member, you may buy as few as 25 points as an add-on. But that won't get you very many nights.

The only incentive you've already missed. It was $145 p/point up until the 19th.

There may be incentives in the future if sales slow and Disney needs to offer a discount to hit their sales goal. You just never know and the price will continue to increase, that's for sure.

Guess I won't have anything extra to use to convince DH then! We are headed to the world in November, so we'll probably visit the sales center then. Is there any timeline as to when points will go up from $150?

Nope, all we knew was that the price started at $145 during the member sale and was scheduled to go up to $150 a month later when sales opened up to the public.

According to my guide and a cast member in quality assurance, VGF sales have exceeded initial forecasts and is setting new DVC records. Another price increase seems more likely than an incentive.

I know they are way backed up on getting contracts out. I added on Tuesday and may get the contract sometime next week if lucky (originally was told I would get by Friday). Lucky points were already in the system and I was able to book for December.

Cast members not even getting a discount on this one. Being the flagship resort and not a large DVC property I would be surprised if points are still available for sale after a year. I thought I read a post that said VGC sold out in less than a year. I'd expect the same or less for VGF.

If activity begins at the Polynesian later this year, then it is likely a sign that VGF is selling through quickly.

Yes, points will still be available after a year. DVC will raise prices as dictated by sales. If sales continue to be strong, prices will go up-up-up to increase profitability.

No the Grand Californian took about 18 months to sell and it has half as many rooms as VGF. But VGC was a different project in many respects.

Still, DVC has every reason to use pricing to control the sales pace for VGF. They aren't going to sell the majority of the resort's points at $145-150 each when they can inch prices upward to $160...$165....$170 and still have buyers.

VGC did take awhile to sell and there was point where sales were really slow that they offered a huge discount. That is when DH and I jumped in and bought

I think VGF will be different, because the number if visitors to WDW are vastly different from DL. Locals are the majority at DL, tourist from out of town or other countries are the majority at WDW. I think that VGF will sell faster than expected, especially to this market.

I agree. If what is being said about record sales and exceeding forecasts is true, then 12-15 months seems likely.

So what's the expectation? What's the forecast?
