VGF - 150 pts direct, no October use years

I haven’t seen a resort that has an equal amount of points per use year. They don’t even have the same percentage per month for different resorts. DVC a few years back kind of realized an easier way to buy contracts back for the demand. They allowed themselves to change the use year and resell the points, changing the ratio of use year for the resorts. I really don’t see the issue as long as 90% of the points are not in one group of use years like September, October.
OKW was pretty close to an equal distribution. It wasn't terrible in subsequent resorts until AKV with it's Dec UY and BLT with its ultra heavy Feb UY.

I just bought 150 direct VGF points today in an August UY and it came with the 2022 points.
I just spoke to my guide minutes ago and he said that there was no way to get 2022 points at either VGF or VDH regardless of what UY I chose. I specifcally asked if there was any way to get 2022 points and he emphatically and directly said no. I realize you posted this reply a few weeks ago, and just curious if anything changed between then and now, or if my guide isn't as savvy (or as helpful) is others in getting those points. Anyone?

Your guide is right about VDH and wrong about VGF. You might need another guide! Susan R. Rowe is mine, she’s wonderful. 1-800-827-7124. Susan.R.Rowe@disney.com

Maybe there's no inventory for VGF but I can't imagine that's the case with VDH.

Thank you and I will reach out to her if my guide can’t do this for me. I’ve read multiple referrals for her, so may jump ship if needed.

Can you tell me specifics so that I can be ready for possible questions? Like what UY is qualifying or anything else that might be helpful? Thanks again!

VDH doesn’t open until this September so they are not issuing 2022 UY points to anyone even if they pick a September, October, or November UY.
That makes sense, thank you! I assumed that as well but I asked specifically for any circumstance at any resort which would qualify me for 2022 points.

Edited to add that my guide confirmed it is possible after I questioned him about it. Not sure if I misunderstood him or not, but going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Thanks all! This community rocks!!

I got my 2022 points with my VGF contract. 😀

Honestly, when it gets to the stage that the consumer needs to be more informed than the seller, ridiculous.

As of today, the UY's that would still be eligible for 2022 points are Aug, Sept, Oct and Dec because they have not yet started their 2023 UY.

I will say that for anyone who wants to take advantage of the Magical Beginnings program, it is too late to do that for the AUG UY since that program must be in place at least 4 days before the new UY begins.

But, if you want Sept, Oct or Dec UY for VGF, there should be no reason they can't give it to you....Now, if VGF was closer to 90% sold out, it might be true...but even then, I highly doubt it.

VDH is only getting 2023 points because it is opening in 2023...

Interesting. I was told I would get a February UY. But they might have some flexibility. We’re not tied to one time of year for our vacation though for the next few years we’d like the last week of March for the kids spring break. I chatted with a DVC resale person and she said that based on my need the. UY is not that big of a deal. Am I missing something?

Having a UY that starts just prior to a typical time of travel when you have one just gives you more flexibility if you have to change or cancel your trip. No UY will be ideal for every month if the year.

If you really don’t have a time you will go, then choosing a UY might be less of an issue. With March travel, Feb and March UYs work well.
