VGC Room Key - Super Early Check In for CA EE?

We'll be arriving at VGC next Monday. We'll be staying close by on Sunday night and can get to DLR really early for the EE at CA on Monday, but we've never done this and are wondering about check in.

We know check in is 4p, and sometimes rooms are ready early, but we don't want a room that morning - we just need to get a key we can use along with our tickets to get into the park for EE.

Do they issue keys even if there's no room associated with it? Then assign the room later? Are we even technically guests of the hotel at that point, or can we not use EE that day?

If you really get there early enough, you are allowed Early Admission (EA) on your check-in day, even if you don't actually get your room until later.

Who? Guests can take advantage of EMH by staying at one of the 3 onsite hotels (Grand Californian (including the new VGC DVC places), Disneyland Hotel, or Paradise Pier Hotel). This will entitle the hotel guests EMH every day during their stay, including arrival (yes, possibly before your room is ready) and departure days.

We have never had a checkin issue with EE staying at any of the resort hotels including VCG, which we dearly love.

You will receive keys when you check in, no matter how early. I have checked in before 6AM. You keys will allow access to MM or EE on both the check in day and check out day

The first year we owned we drove in overnight from the Bay Area and DH must have driven fast since we got in a few hours before the DL MM (the CM asked if we were checking in for 10/31 or 11/1). Our keys were issued, we napped in the car, and went to the DL MM that day. No problems.

Having been to the first DCA EMH, though, I'd recommend heading for the main gates to get in.

When we stayed at VGC last year, my friend checked in at 7:00am, she stayed at PP the night before. I didn't arrive until around noon and the room was ready! She got a text around 9:45am.
