VGC price drop w/new Disneyland Hotel?

If I may respectfully disagree, I purchased several BWV contracts in 2011-2012 for $58-$62 a point. That was around the prevailing price at the time. Same can be said for BLT which was going for $75-$90 a point, much lower than its initial offering price. My point is not to nitpick but rather to illustrate that unforeseen circumstances (in this case the economic crash of 2008) can wreak havoc on all kinds of markets, including DVC. While it is highly unlikely that VGC will go down substantially, there is risk.

I wish I was interested in DVC at the time! Didn't have kids then, so WDW & DL weren't exactly at the top of my desirable vacation destinations.

I would say if you like the VGC and are able to purchase, do it. Even with an addition, I doubt it would be large enough to cover the large demand, which would still keep prices high.

I might consider adding onto GCV if they had a new expiration and new rooms in a new resort at the existing Grand Californian.

My only thoughts after my last stay there, would be if they did convert those other rooms to DVC rooms, they don't have much of a view of anything. Potentially allowing them to raise the point cost for the view rooms while lowering them for the rooms with views of nothing.
