VGC Pool Question

As everybody knows, there aren't a lot of villas available at VGC, so even though we're DVC members we don't stay at the Villas very often. However, we do go to the DLR alot, day-tripping mostly. Does anybody know if owners are allowed to use the pool, even though we're not overnighting? I think it would be awesome to spend the mornings in the park and then, when it hits 90+ degrees in the afternoon, change to bathing suits and take a quick dip in the pool, then change back and head back to the parks, refreshed!

I am pretty sure pool hopping isn't allowed at DLR hotels.

And you need a room key to access the pool area.

Not pool-hop - just use the pool at the VGC. I mean, after all, our maintenance fees pay for its upkeep.

DVC ownership does not give you pool access when not staying on property.

You are allowed to cool down & hang out in the gorgeous massive lobby area like the rest of the public BUT NO reservations = NO POOL TIME even for DVC members!!

Not pool-hop - just use the pool at the VGC. I mean, after all, our maintenance fees pay for its upkeep.

Unfortunately, you are only paying for pool Maintainance for the days you stay there.

Are there ANY timeshares programs (Wydham, Marriott, Hilton etc...) that WOULD allow this kind of PERK for JUST being THIER MEMBER?

The only FREE (by free means not paying ahead OR discount) PERK we've ever received since 2008 being DVC members is the all the movie
previews recently!!

There are certainly DVC resorts in Orlando that legitimately allow members to polio with the exception of block out days usually high demand times. Certain DVC resorts never allow pool hopping, Storm along Bay at Beach club and Bay Lake Villas come to mind as exceptions.

it's called "day use" when you can use the facilities as an owner even if you are not staying there. DVC does not allow this (and most timeshares don't). here is one positive example:

Day use policy: Club owners not staying at the resort must call 24 hours prior to arrival to ensure availability for day use. First priority given to resort occupants.

There are some other timeshares that allow "Day Use" of certain amenities to owners of that resort. Generally "Day Use" passes are only issued to direct owners (in other words, the sales people fund that "perk") and it's based on availability.

Pool hopping when staying @ certain Disney properties does not surprise me BUT this "day use " thing does!

Some timeshares allow day use, some don't, I'd say it's under 50% that allow it. But all that I know of require you to check in in some way or have another identifying item such as a coded bracelet. Other than fixed week timeshares where you own at a given specific resort, all the rest I'm familiar with (several hundred) require you to check in that day and get an OK based on availability. I do know people who have bought local timeshares with the specific intent of using it as a pool membership.

By this logic, you could use the pool every day of the year, even if you owned only 25 points, and pay 125$ in fees.

You only pay for the pool for the days you are there, using points.
