I'm very interested in possibly getting a resale contract at VGC, due to availability. What are the chances of going through ROFR? Will Disney pull it because they have a long waiting list for VGC?

I'm not opposed to getting a different contract in Orlando, but I doubt we would be able to piece together the 4-6 nights at DL we like at the 7 month mark. Is there hope on that if we do end up going with a different contract?

Lastly, there's not a lot of hope for buying VGC direct, correct? I seem to remember they shut down the waiting list.

There is nothing that DVC buys back all the time and they do not seem to have any comcern about filling any waitlists. Also, the difference in price between resale and direct is really not that great. They make their money off of selling new. Now, of course they could ROFR but that concern shouldn't stop you from making an offer and trying. More than likely it will pass.

If DL is where you want to stay most or all of the time and you want to stay onsite at VGC then that is the property that makes the most sense as its so small. It's possible to book there at 7 months but unlikely to be worth that uncertainty if that's where you visit.

VGC almost never gets ROFR'd as far as I can tell, although things can change. You should just try to get the best deal possible.

If you mostly want to stay at VGC, you should buy there. If you get shut out at VGC, there are no other alternatives, unlike WDW where at least you have several DVC options to try to get at 7 months.

I can't recall seeing a VGC be reported as taken by ROFR since I've been on the forums (May 2016). My guess is that unless you have a contract for <$120 a point for VGC, there shouldn't be an issue.

Regarding 7 months -- from my limited time being able to view availability -- it appears to be difficult to book at 7 months for a week at a time. They'll be a few days scattered -- but not many consecutive.

We have purchased several VGC contracts and no trouble with ROFR. I think that part of the reason is that the resale price of VGC and the price at which they'd sell the points isn't as big of a spread as some of the other resorts.
