VGC Mid-November

We are considering a trip to Disneyland Mid-November for 8 nights. We are traveling with another family who are also DVC owners so we are each interested in a one bedroom at VGC.

Are we going to have trouble booking when the 7 month window comes? Do we need to walk the reservation in order to include weekends in our trip? I heard that weekends can be tough to get.

Is there anything else that I should be aware of about dates in the middle of November? Any big events that will make it impossible to get two rooms? When do Christmas decorations start going up, I assume at the end of November?

We chose November hoping it will be a little less crowded, at least weekdays, and will be cooler. Since we have little ones, it's ok that the park hours are shorter.

Weekdays you most likely will be able to get something. Weekends would be a little more iffy - especially if it's over veterans day weekend but a 1BR or 2BR would probably still be possible. You do want to be online to book right at 7 months to give you the best chance.

The Haunted House will have it's overlay and I think that It's a Small World will either have it by then or may be closed down to get it in mid-Nov. Other decorations will be going up starting shortly after Halloween.

It's 2015 I am looking at so Veteran's Day falls on Wednesday, November 11 so does that mean that whole week will be extra busy? We certainly don't want to get too close to Thankgiving because that will be busy. Are we better off shooting for the beginning of November? Because airfare is less during the week, we want to fly in on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Or would it be better to push out to early or mid December? October is out as an option.

You might want to ask the question about the guest level of DL during that week but I don't think it's going to be too much different for the park itself - maybe just an uptick on the holiday unless there's a school break I'm not thinking of during that week.

Early or mid-Dec is a great time to go with all the holiday happenings but getting a room at VGC will be more iffy than during any of the first 3 weeks of Nov. I think you'll probably be fine with the week you first selected.
