I thought it would be interesting to see what VGC founders plan on purchasing as we VGC non founders nervously wait for the founders to scoop up all the points.
If you lucky ones would be so kind as to fill out the poll....

Wow I'm the first one to vote. Count me in as we plan on 160 points. I sold 120 SSR points to get ready for this add-on.

We are entirely uncertain. We'll either add-on 0, 25 or maybe 50. It will be interesting to see if the point chart, MF and sales pricing moves us to buy.

If I was a Founder I would be buying. Unfortunately I'm one of those poor schmucks who bought at WDW. I'll be buying on March 28th.

I voted 0 :sad2:

We had hoped to buy but unfortunately we just can't swing it right now. Hopefully, there is a resale purchase in our future somewhere down the line! :sad2:

I didnt know the dates have been released... where did you see that? I dont see anything listed on the member website.

Thanks!

The founders got letters saying their sale window would be Jan 25-Mar 25, so hopefully the rest of us can get in line March 26

I am in the founder's group and hoping for around 125 points, give or take, enough for three nights once a year in a two bedroom or maybe every other year in a GV so we can invite family. I've been planning this purchase for a long, long time! I think in general that the demand isn't as big as we would think for GCV points, especially in the general DVC membership, and the economy isn't helping either. If it is like AKV resales will start popping up right after people are able to stay there for the first time.

We got our founding member letter last week after getting back from our first DVC trip to DL and stayed at the DL hotel, got a chance to see the models and they were awesome, we plan on adding 100 points on the 25th and hopefully will get to use them in Nov as soon as they open. I really thought about waiting and trying the whole resale thing later on so it wasnt such a financial hit right now, but with only 48 villas being offered I'm to scared to wait that long let alone waiting to see what the resales might cost considering the limited number of villas being offered and the total lack of space for Disney to even consider building more.

Even though we are on the founders list we are buying small somewhere around the 50 point range. If I just happen to win the lottery then well maybe more:rotfl2:

I have a feeling that there will still be plenty of points avaliable after the founding Member period is over. There are almost 1,000,000 points avaliable, and it looks as if many people will be doing small add on contracts. This should work well for sales this year at Disneyland Resort since now they will actually be able to sell a on-site property to a West Coast audience.

I didn't vote as I'm not a founder, but when checking the results I find it interesting that no one has picked the amount of points that I'm hoping to buy (101-125). I used the BLT points for an idea of what VCG might be..so this may change when (if) we see the points chart.

Well ... I finally cast my vote: 0, at least during the "founders" window. We have more DVC points than we really need already ... and would want to sell one of our SSR contracts before committing to any new points.

Here's hoping that we can find the occasional weekend night at short notice in the years to come! (If not, we're still ok ... having two other timeshare w/in walking distance of the parks. We tend to pick up 1 or 2 night stays easily and hope that continues.)

My guide is entering a sale for 160 points for me on Jan. 25th. I'm just hoping the points charts aren't too out-of-sight from the points for DVC resorts in Florida--or even 160 points won't mean much. I will probably sell SSR at some point in the future when (and if) the market stabilizes a bit, although even if I sold at current prices given the incentives (park passes) and usage I've already had I would probably break even.

Were planning on purchasing 50 points at this time. I'd love to buy more, but I am not sure it would be the most prudent decision at this time in light of the down turn in the economy and the fact that my once highly secure job is now looking at cutting back the workforce...
