The Running Thread - 2026

ATTQOTD: My main objective is to get even more consistent with my running this year but also to focus on eating better to help fuel the running. I got into Chicago and I really want to see how well I can run a marathon if I am consistent with running, training and food. I haven't set any time goals yet - I'll do that over the summer.

ATTQOTD: I will be doing my first full RunDisney weeked with PW, and running my first half! I'm not sure what I'll do after that though. Running has been so helpful with my mental health (i'm usually deep into SAD at this point of the year, but so far everything has been good), but it has also taken up a lot of my time because I'm slow as heck. I definitely want to do some local to me races, maybe try the Twin Cities Marathon version of a RunDisney weekend (5k and 10k on Sat, 10 mile on Sun). Last month we went on vacation to NYC and I had a few runs that needed to happen while I was there. I ended up running in a few different places including Central Park and I LOVED it, and told my huband at some point I am going to run the NYC marathon. I've been thinking of starting to try with the lottery this year, so that might end up changing my whole plan anyway.

ETA: I realized I didn't actually answer the question 🤣 . I guess my goal is to figure out what I want from running and what I'm willing to give up to make that goal happen

ATTQOTD: My goal for 2026 is to run/train smart so that I can stay healthy enough to run all of the races I'm signed up for, which includes 2 marathons and my first 50K. This is an ambitious undertaking and I'm doubting it will go as planned, but I'll give it a shot!
Which marathons and 50k?

ATTQOTD: My goal this year is to see what I can do when I am properly trained for an individual marathon. I am running Chicago and it will be my first outside of Disney, my first world major, and my first time doing a marathon without any other races or 2 a.m. wakeups in the days leading up to it. I am already laying the groundwork with a running coach and I'm very much enjoying the learning process right now. Check with me again in August, LOL!

Which marathons and 50k?
For marathons, Big Sur in April and Detroit in October. I'm signed for the North Country 50K in August, but I might defer if training doesn't go well over the summer. For years I always thought I would one day run an ultramarathon, but now that I've actually signed up for one, I'm starting to question whether I really want to or not.

It’s only five more miles. Piece of cake at that point. :)

ATTQOTD: Stick with my consistency with my running, strength training and physio this year. I am doing my first rundisney challenge (SS) and my first half marathon in the fall. 🤞 Hopefully during this year I can also improve my pace and feel comfortable in my body out there running. I have tried to lose weight all 2025 and it doesn’t want to get lost. 🤣
