VGC Availabilty June 2011 - Anyone??

At the risk of being flamed....If I don't own points at a certain resort, is it improper to ask a fellow DVC'er to just check on availabilty for a certain timeframe, in order to help me finalize some other plans? (eg. flights, rental cars)

For example, my family is hoping to get to Disneyland sometime in mid-late June 2011 but we can't finalize exact dates until we know whether or not we can even stay at VGC. If we can't stay at VGC we will be staying somewhere else.
Since I do not own at VGC (we own at SSR, OKW & BLT), member services will not even tell me what is available in June at all.

I was hoping to see when I could most likely plan on securing a room, so I have pm'd 3 VGC owners asking if they would be so kind as to check, and I have not received one response.

So is it wrong to ask such a question?

I am not a VGC owner, so I can't help by checking dates for you.

However, I can tell you that I just got off the phoe with MS and was able to book a weeks stay in a 2BR at the end of May, over Memorial Day weekend even, and there was plenty of availability.

Whatever is available this morning, may be gone this afternoon. It will do you no good to see what is available weeks before you hit seven months out.

I do realize that just because member services may show availability right now for my ideal dates in June, it does not mean they will still be available at the 7 month mark.
However if someone was check my dates and find out that it is completely booked for those dates, it would allow me to start planning for different dates, kwim?

I take it from the two answers above that it is at least not taboo so..........If any VGC owner would be willing to check on the availabilty for a studio or 1 bedroom from June 22 for 6 nights, I would greatly appreciate it.

No, there is no point to do it. Availability changes by the minute. It basically is a waste of time for the CM at Member Services.

Was calling for something else so I checked on your dates. The 1BR is currently available for the whole time, but for a studio, the first night is not available. The rest of the nights are available in a studio.

Btw, I was calling to cancel the grand villa from Dec 6-8th if anyone's interested.
